"we told you this would be the 'life of the party' party. (cheers)" phyllis schlafly has passed away at 92 years old. she was an outspoken critic of liber - and the feminist movement of the 1960's and 70's. schlayfly gained fame for opposing the equal rights amendment... arguing that it would take away gender-specific privileges... including "dependent wife" benefits under social security - and exemption from the draft. "when she got active in the 1970s the equal rights amendment was going to pass it had passed both houses of congress and it was racing through the states and phyllis schlafly

state by state and those volunteers stopped the equal rights amendment." more recently - schlafly threw her support behind donald trump's presidential campaign. here's no rest for the presidential candidates. both donald trump and hillary clinton hitting key battleground states today - with just a little over two months to go before the election. kim hutcherson has more from the campaign trail. with campaign 2016 entering the home stretch... new cnn-o-r-c poll shows a dead heat between democrat hillary clinton and republican donald trump. the survey - which was conducted by phone between september first and fourth - finds trump leading clinton by two percentage points ... 45- to 43-percent among likely voters. it's a significant tightening from the seven-point lead clinton held after the democratic national convention. cnn's poll follows several other surveys released in august ... which

between the two candidates. clinton -- in must- win florida tuesday. on the way, she joked with the press corps on her campaign plane ... that she can't take her doctor's advice after monday's coughing fit: (hillary clinton/(d) presidential nominee) "better. now the advice of course is just don't talk for a day or two (laughter) yeah, that's not gonna work for me. it takes awhile for them to kick in" clinton has released a letter from her personal physician.... attesting to her overall good health. we have breaking news-- a henderson man arrested for killing his one-time roommate -- is being released from jail tonight. michael lanunziata was taken into custody after a man was found shot to death in a neighborhood near us-95 and nevada state drive. henderson police say lanunziata remained at the scene after the shooting in the early morning hours of august 27th. neighbors said it looked like someone was moving out at the time. henderson police tell us lanunziata is no longer a suspect, but that the incident remains under investigation. apple is ready to make its next big announcement tomorrow. what we can... and can't expect.... for the next generation of the i-phone. plus... a new advantage... to having a master-

paypal users are going to have an easier time paying with mastercard. a deal between the two companies was made - after paypal signed a similar deal with visa in july. mastercard will now be more prominently featured on paypal's app and website - and its other payment service "venmo". it will also allow paypal users to select a mastercard as a default payment option. under the new deal - paypal and venmo users will also be able to transfer money to their mastercard debit cards instantly. previously - it would take a couple of days for the funds to be available in bank accounts. the changes are expected to be made in the first

brock turner is now officially listed as a sex offender. the 21-year-old registered t the greene county sheriff's office in ohio - where he's currently living with his parents. the former stanford university swimmer was convicted in march of assaulting an unconscious woman after a fraternity party. he is facing three years of supervised probation after serving half of his six month jail sentence. prosecutors had been seeking six years behind bars - and the punishment lead to anger around the nation. "this sentence also sent a dangerous message to victims of sexual violence...it sent the message 'don't bother to call the police' because you will not get justice...and to potential perpetrators...it sent the message 'don't worry, the courts will have your back." brock turner must register with local authorities every ninety days. he plans to appeal his conviction. new reports of a man dressed as a clown - trying to lure children into the woods. "round up some people and let's get 'em." winston-salem police in north carolina got their first report of the clown around 8-30 sunday night. two children say they saw the clown - and one adult heard him - trying to coax the kids with treats. he was dressed in white overalls - white gloves - red shoes and bushy hair... with a white face a red nose... the clown was spotted again - about four hours later - in another area. 'it's real, real jive scary, because that's like the bus stop. for all the "i hope they catch him before somebody else does. it's not gonna be good for a clown." there were similar reports of "creepy clown" acting the same way - last week in south carolina. california is seeing a rush on sales of a-r 15 rifles. a new law is set to go into effect next year - looking to end the sale of such weapons. ali wolf visited a gun store in sacramento - where sales are skyrocketing.
