that strip that was being supplied by a smaller extension cord." the victim was taken to the hospital - where he was declared dead. the people who live in the home say the man was homeless - and being allowed to stay in the room - in exchange for doing chores and yard work. a mother wants to know why her son was able to kill himself... while he was on suicide watch at the las vegas jail. she says -- she didn't even find out what happened until the never received a phone call to explain what happened. the coroner confirms that in june - despite being on suicide watch - tyler worley hung himself - with a sheet in his jail cell. he would have turned 22 last week. the coroner says inmates on suicide watch are supposed to be checked every 15 minutes - and that's when they found tyler. no other mother should have to go through this. find out the next day

change. the city of las vegas would not talk on camera... but they say a full internal investigation is taking place. the southern nevada health district... has still not responded to fox five.... about reports of bugs at the sliver nugget casino. our investigation began - after photos were posted online - claiming to show bugs in the restuarant - and gaming areas of the casino. the silver nugget says it shut down the homestead... temporarilly. it's currently back open. fox five visited the restaurant today. there appeared to be a heavy smell from cleaning or sanitation material. no sign today - of any bugs. nevada's unemployment rate dropped slightly in august... both compared to the month before... and year-over- year. the state says the unemployment rate was six- point-three percent in august. that's down from last month - when july posted jobless numbers at six.point-five percent.

as hillary clinton battles pneumonia - americans are sizing up the health of both presidential candidates. donald trump appeared on the dr. oz show to discuss his health, while clinton released more detailed information about her physical condition. steve nannes reports. with hillary clinton sidelined by pneumonia, donald trump is trying to prove he is fit to serve as president. (dr. oz/host): "why not share your medical records?" (donald trump/ (r) presidential candidate): "well i have really no problem - i have it right here? should i do it? i don't care. should i do it?" with that, trump shared a one-page summary of his physical with doctor oz. the show released a short clip from the interview. "most of the time he didn't answer the questions directly so it was probably flattering for him, but i think if you were really paying attention he didn't really answer anything." a statement from the show says dr. oz reviewed trump's family medical history, heart health and medications. meanwhile, clinton is hoping to put to rest questions about her mental and physical well being. on wednesday, her campaign released new medical includes details of a recent check up her blood pressure was 100 over 70, heart rate of 70, with a cholesterol of 189 her physician says the remainder of her physical exam was, quote, "normal" and she is in, quote, "excellent mental condition" the doctor adds that she recovering well and is fit to serve as president donald trump.... right here on fox five... tomorrow at 10 a-m. a new poll shows donald trump is now leading hillary clinton in nevada. the monmouth university survey of likely voters - gives the republican presidential nominee 44% support - over clinton with 42%. that's within the poll's margin of error. clinton led a similar poll back in july.

what appears to be garbage on fire... is caught on camera. the video was sent in by a fox five viewer. it was taken near spring mountain and arville - just before seven this morning. you can see what appears to be trash in flames - on the street - just behind a garbage truck. republic services of southern nevada says in the rare event of a fire on one of its trucks - extensive safety guidelines are followed. contents are often spread out - eliminate the fire. no one was reported hurt in this incident. a scare involving a swarm of bees today. they were reported at pioneer park - near vegas and buffallo. you can see them on the tree in this video. the area was marked - and a private company was called in to handle them. bees can be extremely dangerous. just last month - a man was taken to the hospital - following a massive bee attack - and later died from his inuries. you can stay up- to-date... with fox five using your mobile device. just head to fox

signed a new aid deal. it gives the israeli military 38-billion over the course of 10 years. it's the largest such agreement the u-s has ever had with any country. after months of negotiations - both countries signed the deal at the state department today under the agreement - israel will slowly go from buying mikitary hardware in israel to buying all of its military equipment from us companies a man in phoenix is in jail tonight... after police say he deliberately drove his car into a group of officers. jonathan hunt takes a closer look at the shocking surveillance video. it was about 1.45 am when a nissan altima pulled into this phoenix quik trip gas station. the driver backing into a space and sitting there for nearly three minutes as three police officers stand talking in front of the convenience store. then with no warning, the nissan driver pulls out of the space and aims his vehicle directly at the officers, sending all three flying. two of the officers

but he fights. eventually one officer fires a tazer and the suspect goes down... yahner says: "they were victims of an unprovoked violent, intentional act. these officers could easily have been killed. thank god we are not planning three funerals today." the officer flying through the air is 33 years old. it was his first day on the job. he suffered a head injury. another of the officers has a broken leg. and the third was injured in the fight with the suspect. all are expected to be okay. marc laquon payne, who's 44 years old, was arrested at the scene. he made his first court appearance overnight and faces three charges of attempted murder. this "intentional act' as the police chief called it, follows the targeted murders of police officers this summer in dallas and baton rouge. this isn't payne's first altercation with the police. according to court documents he recieved probation
