community at centennial park near the 215 and fort apache. sandy says the neighborhood looked a lot different when she got the grand tour sandy: im horrified. i mean i spent 25 k dollars of my life savings to buy the fisrt house ive ever bought. and i did it because theres an hoa and i never thought i would move into a neighborhood full of garbage so badly that there's rats in the neighborhood. sandy- who didnt want to go on camera - or have us use her last name - showed us this picture...of a dead rat sprawled out near so mone's home. sandy: the garbage just lays there. more than her frustration towards what she calls messy neighbors - sandy is calling on the hoa to do something about it. sandy: we're not getting any help from the hoa. the hoa says they dont have the money to pick up the garbarge

services comes twice a week to clear out garbage bins. the hoa says it ocassionaly helps with the excess trash. nats i called the community manager and asked her about the problem. she didnt want us to use her voice but in that conversation she told me they hire outside contractors when there's a need for it but they're considering a weekly pick up. nats sandy is paying her hoa 40 dollars a month sandy: we its going towards roaming security more than anything else - she just wants a clean neighborhood we also asked the hoa about their violation process - they told me violators get two warnings and if they dont act on it - theyre required to meet with the board. and if theyre still commiting a violation - they might be fined. so

the h-o-a says they plan to hold a meeting in october where it will decide on how to handle the trash problem. more than a dozen law enforcement agencies from across the state came together today to prepare for what officers say is the most serious crimes they can run into. the departments worked with the federal agents to be ready in case of a child abduction. fox5's eric hilt got a close look at the training -- and shows us why officers say it's needed. "during a real child abduction scenario, this truck would be the home base for law enforcement, but today it was used by the fbi and 15 local agencies for a training program that's the first of it's kind in nevada." nats -- interview nats -- truck convo all this -- is just a drill -- as police and sheriff's departments from across the state teamed up with the fbi. joint trainings like this one have already been happening across the country, but today it was a first for nevada.

but the department is hopeful this officer will recover. the crash happened just after four this morning, on tropicana near durango. metro says a sedan driver was speeding, and hit the officer from behind. metro says that driver is 19-year- old david williams. williams kept going for about one thousand feet before stopping. metro says he came back, and helped the officer before an ambulance came. police say the officer suffered back, neck, and leg injuries, but was conscious. " of c a motorcycle, a pedestrian, any of these kids of collisions, there is always a chance something underlying could show up. so please keep our officer in your thoughts and prayers, he does have a family too. " williams was arrested, and metro says he appeared impaired. metro has not released the officer's name. more than 30 teams are ready to compete in a barbeque competition this weekend.
