caesars executive jan jones blackhurst was just one of many community leaders on hand voicing their support for the an expanded convention center and a new nfl stadium. she says the proposal would bring in 1.5 billion dollars in economics and create more than 14-thousand jobs. bigger cheer from the crowd than howie long. the former los angeles and oakland raider said a team here in las vegas would not just bring eight could change the game in the nfl. "this is such a unique city given all the hotels and casinos and the ability to generate the

traffic was stopped on a busy freeway because of a dog darting through traffic... while people tried to save it. you can seth little dog running on the 95 near eastern. this was just before two p-m. some drivers even got out of their cars to help troopers catch it. the whole ordeal shut down 95 northbound at eastern... because the dog would not cooperate. drivers on the other side of the freeway slowed down to see what was going on. you can see the dog running down the off-ramp. we have calls into animal foundation and the nevada

is safe. a six-hour standoff started after police say a man beat his girlfriend... then stabbed his friend. it happened around 4-30 this morning near desert inn and rainbow. police say the victims had non- life threatening injuries. when officers got to the scene -- the man refused to leave the home... and police say he had a high- powered assault weapon. swat officers were called out... and several neighbors were evacuated. officers worked until ten a-m to negotiate with the suspect. he eventually surrendered. police have not provided the suspect's name. three children were taken away from a home after a baby died there. police say the baby was found unresponsive in an apartment around two this morning -- near charleston and lamb. metro told us earlier today this death was not suspicious. but now, three children under the age of seven are in the care of child protective services. metro says the parents of the baby are now under investigation. we will bring you more details as they develop.

trying to get help finding a man who was going door to door in their neighborhood. they say he seemed to target houses with children... and then told the family he used to live there. fox5's adam herbets is live near horizon and college with what happened next. this isnt the first creepy situation weve come across in this area. you might remember last week... parents were complaining about a van that was following children around on their way home from school. this guy - different guy -- had a different m-o. he was telling people that he used to live here... and that his dog was buried in the backyard... so he could come in and take pictures. we dont know if hes harmless... but hes definitely freaking out a lot of parents. (nats neighborhood / chimes) in a nice neighborhood like this... people dont want to be bothered and they don't want people knocking on their door... (nats walking) especially when the guy doing the knocking gives them the creeps. i shook his hand.

himself as gordon. gordon has an odd request. (nats dog wide shot) he wants to come in to your house so he can take a picture of where he buried his dead dog 20 years ago... i was just wondering if there was a way i could get into your house or into your back yard so i can take pictures? first off -- if he's taking pictures... what's he going to take pictures of the ground? ...the problem is, he knocked on more than one house... so unless he has a lot of dead dogs in peoples back yards... something seems off. i don't know. but he was so creepy. (nats kid on bicycle) i just thought it was odd that he skipped the houses in the neighborhood that didn't have kids. he only went to the ones that had kids. (nats neighborhood cars?) this mom called the police and talked to her neighbors. (nats garbage can) thats when she found out... they have seen his car
