live from las vegas it's time for fox5 news at 11. an arson investigation is underway... after two people were injured in a house fire... and one person is taken into custody. how the victims are doing tonight... a three-month-old found dead in an apartment... and now metro's abuse and neglect are investigating what happened. where police say the child's body was di plus... some star power cheer on the proposal for a n- f-l stadium in las vegas. which former n- f-l players are throwing their support behind it. this is fox5 news at 11. local las vegas. a person is in custody after two people were injured in a fire. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. crews say the fire is being investigated as arson. fox5's faith tanner is live on

with the latest. police have one man in custody--- after investigators declared a fire at this home in north las vegas an arson. you can see some damage to the home... from the window you can see some drapes that are burnt. broken glass 20 grand worth of damage las vegas that fire fighters responded to just before 8 tonight. we're told the fire was put out in about five minutes once crews got here. firefighters tell us 2 adults were home at the time of the fire... and were hurt and ... one had to be taken to the hospital. "there were 2 people standing outside the house on our arrival those 2 people suffered some injuries one was transported to umc trauma, the second one is being treated here on scene" again one man was taken into custody...

neighbors tell me the suspect lived at the home. but that's something officials haven't confirmed yet right now we don't know the condition of the woman who was taken to the hospital--- or what her injuries are. live in north las vegas faith tanner fox 5 local las vegas. child protective services have removed three children from after a baby was found dead in a home. tonight, metro police are investigating what caused the child's death. fox5's miguel martinez valle joins us now with the latest. the abuse and neglect division is investigating the 3 month old baby's death.. but police say it doesn't necessarily mean abuse and neglect was involved in the tragedy.. instead .. metro tells me more often than not... infant deaths are a sad mistake that can be avoided.

this country i believe that signs up to witness or to see a child deceased, its a very very difficult thing" it was early in the morning, around 2 .. when metro was asked to assist with a heart breaking medical call... " even for them, for trained investigators... it is very very difficult to see a child, especially a three month old, deceased" in this case .. the family was at a friend's apartment, police say someone other than the parents found the baby unresponsive on a couch... and while police say it's stadard protocal for the abuse and neglect section to investigate any infant's death .. child protective services ended up removing the parents other children from their care... " child protective services also took three children all under the age of 7 years old" bridge " metro's abuse and neglect division is still investigating exactely what led to the baby's death at this apartment complex, but they tell me that infant deaths in the valley, they happen more often than they should" " last year the las vegas metro police department investigated 17 infant deaths" police say some of
