10:50 "hillary is like a nascar racer. she should rent space on her pantsuits for corporate logos." trump himself -- he definitely threw a few punches -- but he also spent a lot of time sticking to his own message... the same talking points that got him through the primaries. 12:45 i will be the greatest jobs president god ever created he also built on the momentum of his running mate. trump says mike pence slaughtered tim kaine in the debate on tuesday night... and a lot of the... "fans" agreed. sot from impersonator 12:19 and i'm getting a lot of credit... pence was my first hire... and he's a good one the real donald trump impersonator is a regular at events like this... and so are the hillary for prison signs. signs like this -- not so much. 20:25 it has been nothing but love. nothing but acceptance and nothing but cheering me on. cheering each other on. trump tried to appeal to latinos and african americans by saying he will create jobs and solve the violence in inner cities.
4:01 pm
what the hell do you have to lose? i will fix it. ...but he didnt mention the lgbt community this man says -- even though he wishes trump would give them a shoutout -- he still thinks safety is just as important for people like him 22:48 i have several friends that disagree with me 23:13 that's what i tell them. you can't argue gay marriage. you can't argue gay rights in a coffin. closed captioning will resume

" god bless america land that i love" international christian academy. trump visited some children in their class and said the pledge of allegiance with them. he also met with the school's headmaster to discuss private education.... and hung out with a p-e class. today fox5 also spoke to robby mook. he is the national campaign manager for hillary clinton's run for president. he praised tim kaine's debate performance last night. "we were grateful senator kaine got some opportunity to talk about the specific plans he and secretary

people's lives. the biggest investment in job creation since world war two, the college plan he put together with bernie sanders " mook says he wished there was more time to discuss healthcare during the debate. he says he is proud of the work clinton's campaign has done during this election, and the one in 2008. the two men hoping to be vice president duked it out last night in farmville, virginia in their one and only debate. and both did everything they could to slam each other's running mates. tim kaine "the thought of donald trump as commander in chief scares us to death" mike pence "the campaigne of hillary clinton and tim kaine has been an avalanche of insults" republican mike pence and democrat tim kaine sat down for their debate at longwood university. although virginia senator kaine had what some felt as a hometown advantage... it was governor pence that takes the lead in many polls after the show. the two focused on insults that have been hurled during this

there was also a lot of talk on immigration and the economy. pence:a nation without borders is not a nation. donald trump is committed to restoring the borders of this nation. kaine: on the economy, there's a fundamental choice for the american electorate. do you want a you're hired president in hillary clinton or do you want a you're fired president in donald trump? we asked fox5 viewers on our website who they thought won the debate. 73 percent went with mike pence... just 27 percent felt tim kaine won. donald trump and hillary clinton saint louis on october 9th... then both candidates will be here in las vegas on october 19th. a date is now set, for the nevada legislature to discuss publicly funding an n-f-l stadium in las vegas. governor brian sandoval announced lawmakers will meet in carson city on october 10th. he says this is a chance for las vegas to welcome a new era in tourism, and expand the convention center. governor sandoval will also ask lawmakers to tweak the hotel tax to cover a

we're getting our first look, at the man police say shot and killed his grandmother. 45-year-old "bradley francis" is now facing a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. police say he does not have previous criminal history. metro says francis chased his grandmother outside, beat her in the street, then shot her. this happened near lake mead and rampart just after four-30 tuesday afternoon. francis then went to the backyard, and swat officers negotiated with him for more than three hours. the suspect eventually surrendered. this is metro's 128th homicide investigation this year. coming up at 5... we will have more

crime and who the victim was. now to a disturbing story. a cat was found dead...after police say someone intentionally hanged it from a fence. now police are searching for the person responsible. fox5's kathleen jacob spoke with police and neighbors in the area where the cat was found. kathleen what do we know so far? cyndi, john... we know that police are very concerned just because this is the type of thing that typically leads to much worse. we d know who's cat this was... or if it was a ferral cat... but we do studies link animal torture like this to future sexual assault, murder, and even serial killings. sometimes that's how the murderers start on those crime stories on tv, yeah it's bad news. ray parker has lived on mallard street for more than 50 years now. i'm not happy about it. first thing that comes to mind is that it might be children that are doing that. very evil children, you know, cruelty to animals. he grew up with animals.. and was
4:09 pm
tortured and killed a cat right here on his street. i'd wanna know who it is, get them picked up and get them some help. and that's what police are trying to do. they got the call september 14th... a woman walked out of her home and found this brown adult male cat. we've blurred these pictures because they're much too graphic for broadcast. this case disturbs us more because of the manner in which it was done. obviously this was a very deliberate act where torture was the goal. police along wit a veteranarian say it's clear someone captured this cat... and hung it from a fence while it was still alive. this was obviously quite a tight binding around his neck and his body position showed that that was exactly how he died and that it wasn't quick unfortunately. now they're searching for the person responsible... because they fear animal cruelty may be just the beginning. the people that commit animal cruelty are the ones that are going to commit
4:10 pm
assaults, our future homicides, our future serial killers. we ask the public to help us find the person or persons that did this to this poor cat! we talked about the link between animal cruelty and sexual assault and murder... but another link... school shooters. most school shooting cases show a history of animal cruelty. just another reason police say it's so important to get the person responsible behind bars. police are looking for anyone that has any information about this case. if you know who may have done this... please contact them... you can remain anonymous. hockey takes another big step in las vegas! we'll show you the place where our future team will practice... and the benefit it will have for the whole community. too many children are left in cars... often because parents forget they are there. now one local woman has a solution... and lawmakers are noticing it. and get all of your breaking news and weather alerts on the go

created a device she hopes will save lives. her product will alert parents if a child is left in a car... and as mike doria shows us... it is getting the attention of lawmakers in washington. pelar thompsons says she's not an engineer -- just a parent with a concern for kids. she has a patent pending for a sensor system thatec when a child is left in the back seat of a car. a signal would then be sent to a key fob or an iphone alerting the parent to get the kid out. pelar thompson was among this small group brought to washington by an inventors lobby to meet with lawmakers about getting their ideas off the ground. every year -- metro demonstrats just how hot cars can get and the danger that poses to kids left inside. thompson would like legislation requiring car manufacturers to put in her sensor

"i have another patent i'm going to be putting together with the bells and whistles -- to unlock the doors, the horn, turn on the siren, so everyone in the general viscinity will know right now -- get this child out." she's currently looking for a company that will help her get a prototype sensor system built so she can then start pitching it to companies and to car manufacturers. shes's also recently had a meeting with the small business development center here in las vegas. she says getting this idea off the ground has not be easy but hopes with her recent invite to washington and this new surge or energy behind what she's doing --
