the principal of centennial high school is asking parents to monitor their kids social media-- and report any threats of violence. the talk of both schools on social media today stemmed from a fight that broke out friday night.... between dozens of arbor view and centennial high students. the letter asks parents make sure thier kids are following

bullying or harassment to the school. the fight happened after arbor view high school beat centennial hills in a football game. it spilled into a raising canes and in-and-out. four people were hospitalized, including one girl with very serious injuries. detectives believe there are some students who left the scenes before talking to police. no arrests have been made yet. the possibility of a n-f-l stadium in las vegas is in the spotlight this week. nevada lawmakers are in carson city right now for a special session. fox5's kevin bolinger is also in carson city, and joins us with what was talked about today. closed captioning will resume closed captioning

two down.. one to go.... las vegas is now center stage in the race for our next president.... we are nine days away from the third and final debate. and set up has already begun on campus. parking lots will shut down this friday... and that has many students inconvenienced. fox-5's vince sapienza spoke with some who say they're trying to survive the constant changes.... and he joins us with more...vince... john.. it's a common campus complaint especially for a commuter school during normal circumstances... parking is problem number one for students.... but for the next week and a half.... that issue now rises to a presidential level.... the upcoming debate isn't just ticking off students.. but taking them off campus... qot: how is parking normally? "awful." "parking is a nightmare." "definately parking is an issue." it's the never ending student struggle. "always a crisis, if you don't come early, you're likely to not find a spot." and with the presidential debate just days away. those spots...will now be even harder
6:09 pm
the tropicana lot, the n lot and all thomas and mack parking spaces will not be available starting friday. that's over 56- hundred spaces. "i actually park over in the tropicana lot." qot: and what is going through your head when you here they're going to be all shutdown? "considering most of my classes are cancelled, i'm ok with it." "a lot of my classes are actually cancelled because of the parking situation." students usually rejoice when they hear cancelled classed. but with this weeks special circmstances, that's not the case. "the classes now have to be longer that we do take because we're taking off, so i'm taking a two and a half hour class instead an hour and a half class." unlv tell me despite the loss of all the premium parking. they have opened 58-hundred alternative parking spots. but more than half of those are at mccarran airport.. where a shuttle would pick you up and take you to and from campus. "it might attract new people to come to the school, they've never heard of the school, but
6:10 pm
disruption." "just adapt, survival is a little too extreme for me." "i'd still rather have the debates here then have it be somewhere else, it gets people talking about the debate, involved in political ideas and discussions, which is important." despite most being annoyed. the majority of students understand what a big deal this is not just for the university, but in the scope of history as well. calling the minor inconvenience a necessary evil. "just watching the debate last night and went oh, i wish i could be here, the fact that it is coming to las vegas and going to be on campus is really exciting." now again starting friday... all thomas and mack parking lots will be closed to students and public through next wednesday.... the alternate parking lots available on campus will be the u-n-l-v intramural fields and the brand new universtiy gateway garage off maryland.....that just opened up today... for a full over view of altnerative parking and road closures.. their is a link on our website... fox-5 vegas dot

and speaking of the debate... last night's had everyone talking. between the accusations and constant interuptions... its a miracle they even got to some political issues. fox5's kathleen jacob is live in the newsroom after talking to locals about what they thought about last night... and what they're hoping will happen when the candidates meet here. kathleen? guys... i heard a lot of different opinions today... from trump supporters, hillary fans, and even a few people who are still undecided... and people have major differences in opinion... they can agree on one thing. " i wish they'd get more off the personal issues with each other and start talking about what they're gonna do for the country. quit mud slinging one another about the past and all of that, what can you do for the country? " more about the issues... and less about the candidates personal lives. at the debate here next week... people hope to see this happen... but they're not very optimistic. one person put it this way to me... one candidate is unruly and one is too practised.
6:12 pm
more they stray away from the issues... the harder they're making it for them to decide. i think the same the same thing's gonna happen pretty much as far as the debate goes. the questions seem all about the same, it's not even relevent to the real issues that are going on in america. " let's do it right this time, let's act like two adults, not two high school children, or even sixth grade children (laughs) " the debate next week will be exactlli first debate. it will not be town hall style like last nights...so the moderator will decide on all of the questions and regulate the conversation. that debate starts at 6pm next wednesday and will be moderated by fox new's chris wallace. live in the newsroom... kathleen jacob... fox 5 news... local. las vegas. we will also have a special debate report right here on fox 5 following the debate at 7:30. we'll be right

how do we measure greatness in america? the height of our skyscrapers? the size of our bank accounts? no. it's measured by what we do for our children. the values we pass on. i've spent my life fighting for kids and families and it will be my mission to build a country where our children can rise as high as their dreams and hard work take them. that means good schools for every child in every zip code. not debt. and an economy where every young american can find a job that lets them start a family of their own. we face big challenges, but we can solve them the same way families do. working together. respecting one another. and never giving up. i want our success to be measured by theirs.

"is six hours something you would normally take on a cake like this or is that squeezing a lot of hours or very few hours into a lot of detail?" "you know, if i could have spent a week on this cake i would've prepped
