"the trump effect". prominant democrats and republicans have called trump out on his rhetoric. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. but do those words encourage others to use hurtful language? tonight fox5's miguel martinez valle took a deeper look at verbal harrassment caught on camera in the valley. the story started when we found this video posted on facebook. a henderson man yelling at these construction workers... he called them wet backs, demanded to see their citizenship papers... i tracked down the man doing the yelling. he told me, he hopes trump wins, so he can deport people like them... i want to warn you now... the language you're about to hear is offensive. nat of video: " you think people want to hear this constantly... ahh

the attack happened near paseo verde parkway and desert shadow trail. . we are right near a popular jogging trail. several people have said it's a nice area... where they don't expect anything bad to happen. but this is where leslie griffin was attacked friday. tonight we're learning she's a professor at unlv. "that's just crazy, i can't imagine it makes any kind of sense" unlv student, kristian kaskla... says it's hard to believe one of his law professors... leslie griffin... is fighting for her life. griffin is in critical condition.... henderson police say on friday she was attacked by this man... 23 year old michael mattingly.... while she was jogging. witnesses say they saw her bleeding... and being kicked by

carjack another woman. kaskla was a student in griffin's class last term. "she inspired a lot of hard work out of people, anyone you talk to in my class has tremedous respect for her" the unlv law school send out this statement about griffin. "leslie griffin, the william s. boyd professor of law, is a treasured and admired member of the law school community it goes on to say all of us at the law school and at unlv are thinking of leslie and her family in this difficult time." "professor griffin was a fantastic professor all around, i think by far she was one of our smartest professors and just showing up to class everyday everyone was ready and prepared and i don't think you get that atmosphere in many other classes" mattingly is accused of the attack .. and remains behind bars. held on a 150- thousand dollar bond. meanwhile the campus community at u-n-lv... is deeply saddened by the news. students and faculty are hoping for the best. at the hospital.. live in henderson faith tanner local las vegas. according to griffin's bio on unlv's website, she teached constitutional law and is also known for her work in religi an armed man carjacks a woman outside her home in henderson... and it was all caught on camera! it happened around 7-30 last night near warm springs and valle verde. the victim told fox five she pulled into her driveway... when a man pointed a gun in her face asking "do you value your life?" she says she fought back against the armed man... then tried to tackle him. after the struggle -- the man got back into the victim's car... then drove off in her grey nissan rogue.

was caught on camera near eastern and flamingo. while stuck at a red light -- a driver recorded this fight between a man and woman. first it started with pushing... then punches are thrown. police say both were armed -- one with a knife and another with a crowbar. you can see the woman putting the man in a headlock... before he lifts her up... and onto the ground. some bystanders try to break it up. eventually -- the man gets back in his car. police say one person was contacted by the police other was contacted at the hospital. no word on their condition. an armed robber is on the run after threatening a bank with a backpack he claims had an explosive device inside. here's a look at the suspect. police say he walked into a u-s bank around ten a-m near hualapai and desert inn... and demanded to speak to a manager. police say he was armed with a gun... and told employees he had an explosive device in a bag. the suspect grabbed some cash... left the

took off in a silver compact sedan. police say the bank was evacuated... and the suspicious bag turned out to be safe. a gunman is also wanted after shooting a man to death during an argument. it happened around seven a-m on ogden between stewart and fremont street. police say the victim was shot in the head and neck during the altercation. officers found his body in the street. police say a dark-colored sedan left the scene at a high rate of speed... after the shooting. anyone with information should call police or crimestoppers 7-0-2-3-8-5-55-55. the hotel tax bill to help finance a proposed nfl stadium and the expansion of the convention center is halfway to becoming law. tonight the state senate passed the bill and now it's in the assembly's hands. fox 5s kevin bolinger is live from carson city with the very latest.
