chaos at a credit union tonight... as hundreds of local accounts are suddenly missing money. i'm cyndi lundeberg -- in for christine tonight. i'm john huck. it was viewers like you who first told us about this tonight... and when we arrived at the 'one nevada credit union' on decatur near blue diamond... sure enough -- people were scrambling to find out what happened to their cash! fox5's adam herbets is live at the cradit union ... and adam .. you've been able to find out what might of happened... we were originally told that there were about 100 people outside of this bank trying to figure out what happened to their money when we got here we found out that was a little bit of an exaggeration but still people were upset and trying to figure out if they would get that cash back into their accounts

were told... is that it was a "magnetic strip problem" i don't know exactly what that means so what i'm guessing is one of the atm machines got hacked into and they just started to snatch money out of people's accounts like that this man admits... hey... he didnt have a whole lot to steal from his account... but his 12 years with the company are probably over. i'm probably going to end up canceling my account though, because this has happened more than once. there was one guy who told me he got like about 500 dollars taken out of his account for no reason. he's like 300 dollars in the negative now. yeah you gotta talk to that guy. he has a lot of words to say. we spoke to the ceo and he says this was all because some criminal put a skimming device on a card reader. we have been told that these skimming devices have become more and more common lately, if you are trying to avoid it the best thing to do is make sure every time you scan your card that you tug on the device to make sure that it is an actual card reader and that there's not anything else

the bill already passed the assembly in a 35-7 vote and now heads to the governor for a signature. the measure authorizes the clark county commission to raise sales tax in the county by point-1 percent. the 39 million dollars the tax hike is expected to raise each year would go several southern nevada police forces.. including metro. but the sheriff says his work's not done. "the work continues, now it's important for me to go to the county commission individually and talk to them talk to them about the details of the bill, and hopefully achieve their support also. believed to be tied to more than a dozen robberies and a carjacking in henderson -- is shot and killed by officers. police say the suspect led police on a car chase on the 2-15 for hours last night. it shut down parts of the freeway. when the chase ended -- police say the officers were confronted by a man with a handgun... and they fired at him. the suspect died at the scene. no officers were hurt. a fight turns deadly outside a chevron terrible's station. police say two men got into a fight around six a-m near lake mead and hollywood... when a third man walked up and shot one of the men. the victim died at the scene. police say it appears the men knew each other. the suspects took off in a grey or silver four-door sedan. if you have information on who these people are, call crimestoppers at 7-0-2-3-8-5-55-55. a man wanted in a sexual assault 12 years ago is being extradicted back to nevada from an

match. his legal name is "pirate"... but he was formally known as "daniel selovich." metro says in 2004, selovich forced his way into a room at the ambassador hotel... and sexually assaulted a woman. that woman's rape kit wasn't tested until last year. police say the d- n-a from the kit matched a sex offender jailed in alaska.
