billion dollars in funding to expand the las vegas convention center. police officers swarmed mojave high school today... after they found out a student brought a gun to school. according to c- c-s-d police.. a 14-year-old student had the gun on them... but they didn't pull it out on anyone or make any threats. instead -- somebody found out about the gun and reported it. school police told us this student has been arrested. police also say this school has metal detectors, and they are investigating how the gun got into the school, and got ahold of the gun. we are working to find out more on what happened... and will have more details as they come in. last friday, rival students from centennial high school and arbor view got in a massive brawl after a football game. tonight, centennial football players will play their first game since that fight. centennial is facing shadow ridge. there will be increased security at this game from both school and metro police. the game is at shadow ridge school police are still working to

they ask anyone with information to come forward. it's a story we've covered plenty of times before... parents in the valley upset because of problems with their kids' bus system. we've listened to issues ranging from delayed drop off times to inexperinced bus drivers. fox5's abby theodros spent the day searching for answers and joins us live at one ccsd bus stops near lindell and cactus i told ccsd we've been hearing a lot of complaints about bus drop offs and picks and their drivers...they say theyre short about a hundred drivers and need all the help they can get. as for the parents - a lot of them are losing their patience leslie fry, ccsd mom: its unnerving when you dont know where your kid is. and then when you call the office, no one is in the school office. leslie fry says yesterday was the second time this school year she's had issues with her si x year old daughters school bus. 14-19 leslie fry, ccsd mom: its been issues about ccdc

her on drop off fry says she got an automated call from the school district saying bus issues forced the kids to stay on campus fry isnt the only one with complaints. fox5 received this message from a mother who says her bus driver was two hours late. and claims the driver asked the kids on the bus for directions. nats we reached out to ccsd for answers. they couldnt verify the complaints but say they have a serious bus driver shortage. melinda malone, ccsd spokeswoman: we do have right now, 1497 bus drivers and we have 1061 positions. so we have about 104 routes that are not being filled by a permanent bus driver. that means temps are filling in which could explain the complaints of delays and inexperienced drivers. melinda malone, ccsd spokeswoman: sometimes the driver is given that route that day, and they need to fill in they have instructions but they are learning as they go. theyre experienced bus drivers but they're not

a large wildfire is spreading quickly in the lake tahoe area... and strong, 70- mile-per-hour winds could make it worse. the wildfire is called "the emerald fire". it is burning near emerald bay and is about 200 acres. right now the fire is 25 percent contained. 500 homes in the south lake tahoe area are under a mandatory evacuation. several roads are shut down, and evacuation shelters are being set up at a reno elementary school. hundreds of people are missing their money... because of a problem with one nevada credit union accounts. the c-e-o says -- now they're looking for a hacker who tried to rip their customers off. this happened at

blue diamond location. the credit union is blaming it all on a "magnetic strip problem" -- which basically means someone put a skimming device onto a card reader. it's a problem the credit union says can happen at any bank... and now the c-e-o is urging people who want to switch banks to reconsider. i'm probably going to end up canceling my account though, because this has happened more than once. there was one guy who told me he got like about 500 dollars taken out of his account for no reason. he's like 300 dollars in the negative now. the credit union is working with customers to get all of their money back, and get people new debit cards. coming up at 5... we'll show you what you can do, to prevent this happening to your account. an update to a story we have been following for a few weeks now. the suspect accused of stabbing a realtor... told police he couldn't remember doing it. police say "daniel mora" attacked "ryan vega" as he showed a home to potential buyers on september 30th. mora was a tenant in the home, and police say he stabbed vega in the neck. police found

"i've played with bricks, maybe i can go create something.' as an artist, i just want to inspire people. breaking news this afternoon-- a man babysitting an 18-month-old is behind bars after the child was found with severe burns... and later died. 21-year-old demond billingsley is not related to the little girl... but was babysitting... and police believe he is responsible for her injuries. the little girl was found unresponsive yesterday afternoon near and desert inn. she was taken to sunrise hospital where staff saw injuries that were consistent with abuse. detectives say the child had severe burns and bruising to parts of her body. the plan to fund an n-f-l stadium has passed both the assembly and an n-f-l stadium has passed both the assembly and the senate and now the next step -- it goes to governor brian sandoval's desk to sign. this bill would put 750 million dollars in public funds toward the stadium.
