got the first call about the shooting at 9:30 this morning... the witness told them it happened near russell road... police closed the 15 from charleston to spring mountain for at least an hour during the investigation... police say they arrived around 9:30 on i-15 near sahara to find a couple shot-- and their car crashed into a barricade. officers then learned the suspected shooter drove off... and shot 2 other vehicles.. one was a car he shot 3 times, the other a semi he shot near tropicana and the 15. " totally ra unrelated, i dont know why he would shoot at these various vehicles on the 15... there may be other people that get home and find their vehicle has a gun shot in it" the couple was rushed to the hospital where the woman died-- she was in her 40's. the driver is in his 50's. one other person was injured. that highway shooting spree ended by 9:43 when police got a call placing the suspect at a c-v-s near las vegas blvd and windmill fox5's abby theodros joins us live at the store after talking with a woman who says

at her paula hayden was picking up some supplies at this cvs when she says the suspect walked in with two guns and darted towards the pharmacy. she says he was so non-chalant that she thought it was a joke...but when he pointed the guns in her direction she knew it was serious. paula hyde, witness: i seen i guy walking towards me and he had two guns in his hand and he was doing this at me paula hyde is describing what happened inside this c-v-s on windmill and las vegas blvd this morning. paula hyde, witness: he was calm. very calm. the supect - a man in his late twenties-went on a shooting spree on the i 15- killing one and injuring two others. by 9:45 this morning - he was inside this cvs - two guns in hand. paula: he knew exactly where he was going. straight to the minute clinic. hyde says she doesnt think he got away with anything...but he shook everyone inside the cvs to

running through your mind? paula: am i going to get out of here honestly. there were a million things running through my mind but the first thing was i need to get out of here, my husband is waiting for me outside, and thats when i got scared. about 10 to 15 others were inside the store with hyde. she says in the midst of the chaos - the suspect tried to sexually assault a young woman in her twenties. paula: he had pulled his pants down and made an obscene gesture to her and then she pushed him and she told him d touch me. and after that i dont know what he did. but after she was outside with us. the victims eventually escaped through the back of the store while the suspect engaged in a stand off with police in the front. by 10:20 the suspect was taken down by a k9 and was placed in custody. thankfully no one physically hurt
