vehicle.. they were able to link that vehicle to a car that had been stolen in henderson at gun point. wilson's wife actually reported him missing on october 12th... and records show he made calls to a suicide hotline and a life insurance company. " detectives found that wilson had written in his own blood on the display screen in the vehicle the word sorry. " they think he wrote this before officers shot him. wilson is also linked to 16 armed robberies... police believe all are with this fake looking gun. other than that he had a very minor criminal history... so they're not sure what sparked the crime spree. live in the newsroom...kathle en jacob...fox5 news...local..las vegas. the four officers involved are on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues. an arrest report shows a woman shot and killed over the weekend... was pregnant. police say 27- year-old ivan cotton is behind bars facing murder charges. officers found cotton standing outside a car with the injured woman inside on saturday

the report shows cotton originally told police that kaji goode had shot herself... but was also heard on the 9-1-1 call saying "i made the mistake...she doesn't deserve this." 22-year-old goode was taken to the hospital... where she later died. police say the two had been in a relationship for the last year. a woman who was killed in a freeway shootout over the weekend has been identified. police say 48- year-old tracey donahue died saturday morning... after she and her husband were shot whi down the i-15. her husband thomas was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. police say two other vehicles were shot at by the suspect. that man was arrested at a c-v-s where he tried to sexually assault two women. 29-year-old kenneth mcdonald faces several charges including murder. police say more charges are expected... because of the multiple crime scenes. high winds over the weekend left 23 hundred homes and businesses without power. n-v energy reported that outage in a northwest valley

are created." and for las vegas football fans, they too must exercise patience as we wait for a final approval. but mark davis tells me it's not a tough sell. "i don't think it's a pitch, we learned a lot in our last go around in that process and i think we just need to provide that information." president obama is coming to las vegas this weekend. he'll be here on sunday... but it's not clear where or at what time just yet. we know he will be campaigning for hillary clinton and catherine cortez masto-- along with urging nevadans to vote. early voting does begin in nevada on saturday. but ahead of that big visit-- the third and final presidential debate at u-n-l-v just days away... it means a traffic headache for commuters... as road closures are re place. the i-15 southbound from sahara to the 2-15 eastbound through the airport connector will be closed on wednesday between four and 10 p-m. you can also see there are some other closures on tropicana... maryland parkway... and russell road. access to and from mccarran international airport will also be affected. the debate will create a multi- million dollar bill... but through september, unlv's debate had already

salesman was busted... after investigators say he scammed an elderly woman. d-m-v officials say the victim wanted to donate her old car to safe-nest when she purchased a new b-m-w. investigators say the salesman, "allen smith, junior" said he would arrange for the donation, and even told the victim he knew someone who worked at safe nest. instead... investigators say he sold the car through craigslist... leaving safe nest with nothing. smith was caught, and d-m-v officials say he could face more prison time because the victim is elderly. police need your help finding the suspect of a hit and run crash... that left a pedestrian dead. "this is probably one of the darkest areas of the street right here. obviously, there should be a consideration when crossing the street to make sure you are seen. do it where you're suppose to be. in a cross walk or intersection. it happened last night just before

witnesses say a man was hit by a car while crossing bruce street near owens. they say the man was not in a marked cross walk and was not in an intersection. the vehicle did not stop after the crash. this is metro's 87- th traffic related death. a mother is behind bars after her 4- year-old daughter shoots herself in the throat. 30-year-old shaletres townsend has been booked in the clark county detention center. she faces one count of child neglect with substantial bodily harm. police say the woman left her firearm on a chair in a bedroom where multiple children were playing... that's when they say the gun accidently went off. the girl was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. in a study of accidental shootings involving children... nevada ranked near the bottom compared to other states nationwide. the study was done by the associated press and usa today. it found nearly one incident involved minors per million people. that's well below the national average of nearly three and a half incidents per million.

three cases involved minors out of one thousand incidents in two and a half years. all three of those cases were in the las vegas area. rain is helping firefighters battle a wildfire near carson city. but it's also creating new concerns for flooding. the wildfire has already destroyed 22 homes in it's path through washoe valley. officials warn the public to stay away from the area... with the possibility of falling rocks. the 5-point 3 mile fire is now 55 percent contained. crews say they've managed to keep the fi four hundred and eighty homes. the fire started early friday morning. (charles moore, fire chief) "if you had a light camp fire and you have a spritzer bottle you can probably knock down the flames but you're not going to remove the heat. we have a lot of trees down that are still red hot. ..believe it or not in this rain. so our goal is to get this fire when the incident emergency team is done and there is zero percent chance that the fire will rekindle." governor brian sandoval declared a state of emergency allowing state agencies to help
