cotton standing outside a car with the injured woman inside on saturday night-- near cactus and jones. 22-year-old kaji goode was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds... where she later died. police say the two had been in a relationship for the last year. a man accused of causing the death of a little girl in his care, appeared in court today. prosecutors told the courtroom how the 18- month-old died last thursday. "essentially, he put this two year old in bathwater that was so hot, she had third degree burns from her chin all the way to her feet. " metro says 21- year-old "demond billingsley" was watching "lyriq elaine clayton" and his own child when the incident happened. the child also had some bruises. several friends and family members were in the courtroom to support billingsly. his lawyer told a different story of what happened that day... saying this was an accident. the mccarran airport has grown over the years to the 8-th busiest in the country. today-- a new air traffic control tower was unveiled to help make our travels a lot safer. the project has been in the works since 20-11. senator harry reid previously secured 55 million dollars for it. the new tower is the second tallest in the nation-- staggering high at 352 feet tall. it can hold up to 40 controllers. there's also another building that can house 50 additional controllers if needed. "the old tower was commissioned 33 years ago at a time when the airport had just over a hundred operations here and now we're at 525 thousand operations and that's a nice problem to have. las vegas's air system has been growing very rapidly and it will continue to do so." the tower also comes equipped with terminal radar approach control... training simulators and administrative offices. clark county graduation rates are at a record
