breaking news tonight affecting thousands of people... the rolling stones have cancelled their show at the t- mobile arena tomorrow night! i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. the band just announced this about an hour ago on social media. according to a release - frontman mick jagger has laryngitis and has been told not to sing. so what does this mean for the tens of thousands of ticket holders? the band says to hold on to your tickets and they hope to re- schedule.. but have not provided any information on if refunds will be available .. or when. the stones are also scheduled to play saturday night at t-mobile.. and at this time they have not said whether this show will take place. mick jagger himself took to twitter and posted this: "i'm so sorry about the cancellation of wednesday's show in las vegas, i've got bad laryngitis. i do apologise to

fox5 news at 10, with emmy award winner john huck. christine maddela. and weather 24/7 with chief meteorologist ted pretty. this is fox5 news at 10. local. las vegas. three teens involved in a massive high school brawl earlier this month.... have been arrested. police are still other teen. all three teens are facing battery and conspiracy charges. they are all between 14 and 16 years old. metro says they have identified several others involved in the fights. but they have not been named suspects. the brawl took place after a football game between rivals centennial and arbor view high schools. a man arrested for fatally shooting his pregnant girlfriend over the weekend... appeared in court today. 27-year-old ivan cotton is being charged with open murder. his bail has not yet been set.

cotton standing outside a car with the injured woman inside on saturday night-- near cactus and jones. 22-year-old kaji goode was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds... where she later died. police say the two had been in a relationship for the last year. a man accused of causing the death of a little girl in his care, appeared in court today. prosecutors told the courtroom how the 18- month-old died last thursday. "essentially, he put this two year old in bathwater that was so hot, she had third degree burns from her chin all the way to her feet. " metro says 21- year-old "demond billingsley" was watching "lyriq elaine clayton" and his own child when the incident happened. the child also had some bruises. several friends and family members were in the courtroom to support billingsly. his lawyer told a different story of what happened that day... saying this was an accident. " his own son was in that water, he took out his son, took a phone call, the water was still

" billingsly's lawyer says he has no criminal record, and asked for house arrest. the judge set bail at 150 thousand dollars, and if billingsly gets out of bail, he will not be allowed to have unsupervised contact with kids. the next court appearance is set for november first. lyriq's family does have a go-fund-me to help pay for funeral expenses. we have that information on our website, fox5 vegas dot com. we got a lot of calls from folks in henderson who heard a loud boom and some of them felt their houses shake. bagpipes thousands gathered at the palm springs convention center-- for the memorial of two slain officers. "lesley zerebny" and "jose vega" were responding to domestic disturbance call when they were fatally shot in an ambush-- earlier this month. during the memorial... palm springs police chief called for an end to the violence against police. initial claims for em insurance hit a new low in 17 years. those claims are the first stage of filing for unemployment benefits.... it is closest statistic to the number of people who have recently lost jobs... not the overall level of employment. claims for unemployment insurance declined more than seven percent in september... compared to the same time last year. it's the lowest september total in 20 years. and the lowest number of initial claims in any month since 1999. those numbers have been

the employment department says the month of september tends to be a low point for unemployment claims in any year... but it's a sign of a healthy labor market in nevada. college graduates are leaving school with more debt than ever before. the institute of college access and success says the average undergrad faced just over 30- thousand dollars in loans last year. that's up four percent from 2014. and means these students will pay about 300-dollars a month for more than 10 years. as for who's getting these loans, 68-percent of new, four-year graduates had loans last year. back in 19-93, it was less than half of all new grads. the report did not include for- profit colleges -- many of which have been under fire for their student loan practices. a few dozen states are taking extra steps before the election... to prevent voter fraud. why officials in our battleground state are saying we have nothing to worry about on

nominees prepare for their final debate here in als vegas. kristin fisher has more from washington. a seemingly confident hillary clinton heads to las vegas ahead of the final presidential debate.... her team says she is ready ... palmieri says: "she's prepared to handle a lot of questions on the debate stage." according to a new monmouth university poll -- clinton's ahead of donald trump by seven points in the host state - nevada. democrats see fertile ground in some once solidly republican strongholds - like arizona - where they're investing millions and profile surrogates. but the clinton camp is still grappling with the fallout from fresh wikileaks relases... and accusations of quid pro quo. a senior state department official allegedy tried to pressure the fbi to change the classification on at least one of clinton email's. donald trump seized on both of those controversies... and unveiled this new proposal today in colorado. trump says: "if i am elected president, i will push for a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of

today .. more than 20 taco trucks parked outside the trump hotel ... and their owners on a mission. "we're going to be flooding the city today with taco trucks and lots of volunteers. we have a lot of energy here. we're determined to get to that number up so that everybody's voice can be heard in this election. it's too important to just stay at home and especially too important to not register to vote." the taco's truck employees did their american duty and were out helping people register to vote. the taco truck wall is a play on trumps infamous proposal to build a wall along the mexican border. clark county has announced there are one-million people registered to vote in the valley. they're hoping that number will grow soon. it's the last day to register to vote in nevada. but you still have time! registration can only be done in person at a clark county election department office... or through the nevada secretary of state office's website. election department offices are open until 9 p-m tonight. you can use the voter registration

the mccarran airport has grown over the years to the 8-th busiest in the country. today-- a new air traffic control tower was unveiled to help make our travels a lot safer. the project has been in the works since 20-11. senator harry reid previously secured 55 million dollars for it. the new tower is the second tallest in the nation-- staggering high at 352 feet tall. it can hold up to 40 controllers. there's also another building that can house 50 additional controllers if needed. "the old tower was commissioned 33 years ago at a time when the airport had just over a hundred operations here and now we're at 525 thousand operations and that's a nice problem to have. las vegas's air system has been growing very rapidly and it will continue to do so." the tower also comes equipped with terminal radar approach control... training simulators and administrative offices. clark county graduation rates are at a record

but the states graduation rates are still among the worst in the nation. the latest figures from the u-s education department show a 71 point 3 percent graduation rate for the silver state. c-c-s-d's graduation rate is at nearly 75 percent-- the highest it's ever been. but the state as a whole still ranks third worst in the nation... trailing new mexico and the district of columbia. they both had about sixty eight and a half percent. the national average is just over 83 percent. with iowa topping the li a 91 percent. millennials are making a big splash in the housing market. now... half of all home owners are under 36 years old.
