u-f-c announced it will lay off nearly 15 percent of its staff today. the mixed martial arts company is based out of las vegas. u-f-c says those layoffs take effect today. the company did not go into details on why the layoffs are happening. u-f-c was sold back in july for four billion dollars. the owners pledged to keep u-f-c here in las vegas. closing arguments are underway in oregon where nevada rancher ammon bundy is on trial. today his attorney said bundy and others who occupied the malheur national wildlife refuge last winter made a peaceful stand -- but a determined one. bundy and six co- defendants are charged with conspiring to prevent federal employees from doing their jobs at the refuge through force, threat or intimidation. a federal prosecutor told the jury that the case comes down to common sense. he said the case
