guess the kid got the gun tee white lives next door to the townsend family and still cant beleive what happened just a few days ago. tw: kinda distraught about the whole thing. police say his neighbor - shaltrese townsend - was home with her kids and left a loaded 9 milimeter beretta unattended. she told police the gun was on a chair in the masterbedroom where she was doing one of her kids' hair and left the room for a bathroom break. in that time span she heard the gun go off. nats car neighborhood in the report its unclear if the girl shot her self or another child inside the home pulled the trigger. when police found it - the safety was off. white says its particularly sad because the family was recently robbed and used the gun for protection. tee white, neighbor:if so meone robbed me or my wife, id expect her to get protection the same way and just a sad situation that the kid got a hold of it but the gun was there to protect the family

suspect shot by troopers in henderson has died. the 28-year-old was taken to sunrise hospital yesterday. troopers say he led them on a chase after stealing a car from a woman downtown. he got all the way to henderson, where they say he forcibly carjacked an elderly couple. he was shot trying to get away in their car. his identity has yet to be released by the clark county coroner. mental illness may be a factor in the case against a man accused of shooting a couple on i-15, killing one of them. that's according mcdonald's court appointed lawyer. scott coffee said he's still reviewing police reports about the saturday gunfire on the highway. mcdonald was arrested minutes later at a pharmacy where he's accused of wielding two guns, pulling his pants down and demanding a sex act from a female employee. police say road rage didn't appear to the motive for the shooting that killed tracey donahue and wounded her husband in their vehicle on i-15 near sahara avenue. at least three cars were struck by bullets. mcdonald is due back in court on
