"right now it's my daughter. it's about her head injury. it's about her back. it's about her shoulder." a mother says the district attorney's office may be looking into this video... after her daughter was thrown to the ground by an assistant principal. it's a story you'll five. a child is accidentally shot... after a loaded gun was left in a room. what neighbors say the gun was being used for. closed captioning will resume shortly this is fox5 news at 6. local. las vegas tonight in a story you'll only see on fox 5 -- a school fight is caught on video.

girls arguing... and then a school administrator slams one of them to the ground. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. this all happened at canyon springs high school... and we've been showing you this video for about a week. now fox5's adam herbets is learning... police might recommend criminal charges. john/ christine we were promised last week that the school district would at the very least release a statement about this video... but when we checked back in today, they il talk about it. the only thing they would tell us today -- is that this man, assistant principal chris isle, has been removed from the school... but he's still working... just off-campus... in an administrative building... all because of a police investigation. 34 especially because the day after this happened... her daughter woke up with a big headache... went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with -- a concussion, a sprained shoulder, and a strained back... and the mom says

come from isle because on the video, that's the only person you see fighting. so now... there are so many lawyers who are taking a close look at this video... the mom is looking for an attorney. the school district's lawyers are getting ready for a lawsuit. and now the mom says police told her they're going to send it to the district attorney's office. that means this administrator could be prosecuted... mom says at this point -- she would be happy with that -- but at the very an apology. you know what? i just want ccsd to know that y'all need to be a better leadership for the community. and we wouldn't be sitting here looking at a child at home with injuries. we be planning a funeral. thank god because we didn't have to do that. but as for this? that was way out of pocket. we asked the mom -- why the girls were fighting... or at least arguing in the first place... she says her freshman daughter was walking through

bumped into a senior. the girl dropped her phone... picked it up... saw it was broken... and then started bullying her daughter ever since. now the mom says she will be taking her daughter out of that school. reporting in studio, adam herbets, fox5 news john christine a child could be paralyzed after an accidental shooting over the weekend. her mom was arrested after admitting to leaving a loaded unsecured gun in a room with her kids fox5's abby theodros looked through the report today and tells us more. this is the report. the dad says it was his gun but the kids were under the mom's care when it happened. sadly - police say this little girl will most likely be paralyzed from her injuries. tee white, neighbor: she was in one room braiding hair or something and i guess the kid got the gun

townsend family and still cant beleive what happened just a few days ago. 16-18 tw: kinda distraught about distraught about the whole thing. police say his neighbor - shaltrese townsend - was home with her kids and left a loaded 9 milimeter beretta unattended. she told police the gun was on a chair in the masterbedroom where she was doing one of her kids' hair and left the room for a bathroom break. in that time span she heard the gun go off. nats car neighborhood in the report its unclear if the girl shot her self or another child inside the home pulled the trigger. when police found it - the safety was off. white says its particularly sad because the family was recently robbed and used the gun for protection. tee white, neighbor:if so meone robbed me or my wife, id expect her to get protection the same way and just a sad situation that the kid got a hold of it but the gun was there to protect the family jerry tumminia of green valley range says those
