at least eight people were injured and many others completely traumatized after an american airlines plane blew a tire before takeoff. passengers ran from the plane that was on fire and pouring black smoke... inside the cabin people rushed to get off. fox5's adam herbets joins us live from hualapai and peace -- at their apartment complex where it happened. john/ cyndi we first told you about this story yesterday... thats when somebody went into this apartment complex looking for that couple... they hadnt heard from them in a couple days... ...and thats when they found them ...and thats when they found them dead inside the apartment. police say it looked like they had been dead for at least 24 hours... and now theyre trying to figure out who shot them death... at the very least they do have a few clues... they say right now it looks like it may have been two men who murdered the couple... but other than that theyre not really releasing any other suspect description. jim dunlap: too many nevada police officers have been killed in the last few years. the truth is, we make it too easy for criminals and the dangerously mentally ill to buy guns. they get them at gun shows or online from strangers, no questions asked. so here's something we can do to honor the fallen: close the background check loophole. it works. in states that have closed the loophole, nearly half as many police officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty. background checks save lives.

ethel m chocolates has a lot of resasons to celebrate-- besides national chocolate day. a special proclamation ceremony declared today "ethel m day" honoring their 35-th anniversary. the chocolate factory is re- opening after a two million dollar renovation. there was live music at today's opening with chocolate samplings and live entertainment. the factory tour aisle got an upgrade--as well as new interactive elements and a new cafe.
