jacob joins us live from the clark county detention center-- after talking to neighbors at siegel suites where this happened. guys robinson is locked up here... but when i talked to neighbors the biggest question was why isn't the mom facing charges as well? after all, she was home when this happened. i took those questions to police and they tell me this is still an open investigation but right now she is not a suspect and she's not facing charges. ps: a 7-year-old? what could he have possibly done to make a person that angry to do something like that? a question many are asking the day after this little boy was to death. a go-fund me identifies the child as masje... the individual's photograph that you showed me, i've seen him on probably two or three occassions,very quiet. police say 31- year-old kenneth robinson is the man responsible, if you're abusing a child to the point where a homicide results or the

warrents the ultimate punishment. a family member identified the 7 year old's mother as roshoun thick. police say thick lived with robinson and his girlfriend and while police are not treating her as a suspect right now... neighbors say... something needs to be done. how could you not know that your child is being beaten to the point that they die from their injuries? how could you not know that? somebody's responsible somewhere. all of the other kids are with cps. they're investigating now whether any of the other kids suffered from abuse as well. reporting live...kathleen jacob...fox5 news. local, las vegas a car crashed into a school bus filled with nearly 30 people.... injuring the driver and potentially one of the students. it happened just before two p-m near charleston and buffalo. police tell us a red car was trying to get into the left hand lane when another car

north las vegas police are looking into a shooting that happened this morning. police say it happened in the parking lot of walmart at craig and m-l-k around 11. police say they didn't find any victims that were hurt in the shooting. right now they say two groups of people were fighting before shots were fired. officers say there was damage to one vehicle in the parking lot. the people involved in the fight left the scene. a house party turns deadly over the weekend-- when a fight broke out early sunday morning. police say it happened near smoke ranch and jones. they say around 20 people were at a house party when a fight broke out between several people.

several times and that the suspect is still on the run. police say the suspect is in his early 20s... and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants. if you have any information-- call police. you can also leave an anonymous tip for crimestoppers-- that number is 702-385-55-55. new video is released of a man believed to be responsible for more than 15 burglaries. metro police say this man is suspected in at least eight slot machine burglaries. he convenience store covered from head to toe and carrying what appears to be a gun. he even motions to the clerk as if to wave. in several incidents, police say he was seen prying of the front panel of the machines with a crow bar. detectives now believe he may be using a silver or gray sedan, possibly a mercedes, as a getaway car. toss to weather

night for trick-or- treating across the las vegas valley tonight. temperatures will be in the 70s and 60s under partly cloudy skies. look for a slight spooky breeze 5 to 15 mph. cooler air working into the area will bring our high temperatures down into the low 70s and upper 60s on tuesday with a few clouds passing across the area. look for plenty of sunshine wednesday with a norther across the valley. highs will be in the mid 70s. some showers are expected over arizona thursday and friday, but all of that activity looks to stay off to our east. we'll see some clouds at times as temperatures climb into the weekend. we're back into the low 80s saturday

we've learned a lot about how joe heck works. follow the money. he called nevada's foreclosure crisis a "blip" and took almost $700,000 from wall street, including some of the same banks who caused the crisis. and then there's money he's taken from payday lenders who charge 521% interest. heck co-sponsored legislation protecting their predatory practices. add it all up, and joe heck is working for corporate special interests. and that doesn't work for nevada. senate majority pac is responsible for the content of this advertising. i served under president bush and obama. i fought the taliban. i was asked to form a global coalition to counter isil. when someone makes the comment that they know more about the islamic state or isil than do the generals, it implies a complete ignorance of the reality. but i believe secretary clinton really understands the threat that the islamic state poses to the united states and to the american people.

john huck. christine maddela. and weather 24/7 meteoroligist sam argier. this is fox5 news at 5:30. local las vegas. how long are you waiting in local hospital emergency rooms? the difference could be a matter of hours depending on the hospital. fox5's eric hilt has been investigating that question and is live in the newsroom with a preview of this special report. most times when people go to the emergency room care... but some patients at las vegas hospitals are waiting hours to see a doctor or nurse. and with the busiest season for emergency departments right around the corner, those waits could get longer. "if you feel bad and you think you have the flu, this fall you may be sitting in an emergency department for 3 or 4 hours" we took a look at government data -- seeing how wait times at las vegas hospitals stacked up against other hospitals across the country..
