light up the script tonight initially we were told at this place would be back up and running with electricity in about an hour and that was at 12 o'clock today and we're still waiting obviously it's been five hours now there was supposed to be a back up generator but it didn't work and this all started because of the construction accident somebody cut that main power line in the back of generator was not able to fire up then 3000 people had to be evacuated which of course brings 3000 problems with

opened their doors and the hallways were pitch black. the elevators were also out and so was the entire casino - if you were able to make it down there. this is cell phone video from a guest that was inside the hotel when the power first went out. he described and unusual from what we usually see on the strip. another guest who was staying on the eighth floor described it as a chaotic mess...take a listen matthew solano, paris hotel guest: "you could hear people on the elevator they were screaming and crying and the doors were not opening...it's unnerving only because the hotel should have had some way to formally at least let he staff know

a mother and aunt accused of giving a 9-year-old girl prescription painkillers blamed for her death appeared in court this morning. "both defendants admit to law enforcement that the child was so symptomatic the child was unable to get out of bed, this defendant feared she had overdosed and was hoping that the child would just sleep it off." kendra hatch stood before a judge while the prosecuting attorney talked about her daughter, ryleigh. a police report shows both kendra and her sister mylynda gave the little girl hydrocode and oxycodone to relieve her pain for a broken arm. today a judge set kendra hatch's bail at 100- thousand dollars.

business for paris las vegas. thousands of guests and employees remain evacuated from the property because of a power outage. the entire hotel casino lost power at about 9:45 a.m. when a contractor working in the basement cut into the main power line. no injuries were reported, but county officials say fire crews had to rescue 11 people who were trapped in five different elevators. some evacuations began immediately after the outage was reported. about 3,000 people who remained in the building were told to leave this afternoon because the battery power was running low on the building's fire alarm system. most of the guests were being sent to neighboring hotels, including bally's and planet hollywood. "we are going to work very closely with our customers to make sure they are not harmed financially coming out of this event." many of the hotel guests remained calm during the evacuation... but still it had its bumps. fox5's abby theodros is live in front of the hotel after talking to some of the evacuees about their experience.
