live from las vegas it's time for fox5 news at 11. it was a violent weekend on the las vegas strip. a stabbing and a shooting in just a matter of 24 hours... what's being done to keep our visitors safe. it's the final push to election day. we'll have a look at the last-minute efforts being done by both campaigns... to encourage people to get out and vote. and hundreds gather for a clown convention in las vegas. we hear from them about the negativity they faced this year... and how they're working to make people laugh again. this is fox5 news at 11. local las vegas. police are investigating both a stabbing and a shooting that happened within 24 hours of each other on the las vegas strip. faith tanner is live on the strip and has reaction from people walking around there tonight, faith?

happened on a busy pedestrian bridge that gets lots of foot traffic. tonight people we talked to who were walking around on the strip and they where shocked to learn about these violent acts. nats cell phone video: "what did he say, somebody shot him. each of em? we only heard one gunshot" cell phone video shows the minutes after two men were shot on the las vegas strip around 2:30 this morning on this pedestrian bridge between the cosmopolitan and planet hollywood. sot from video: "is there anybody that might have got shot" people walking the strip tonight were shocked to hear about it. sot : "omg i can't believe it. if i was here i don't know what i wouldv'e done" sot : "it's gonna kinda scare people away" police say the shooter... a 26 year old got into a fight with 2 other men that may have been over drugs. we're told he fired one shot at them- and they were both hit by the same bullet. ran into planet hollywood where police say they took him into custody about 10 minutes later. they were able to track him down thanks to a camera they have

the lifeblood of our entire state our department has very close ties with every police department up and down the strip, that's part of our strategy to provide a safe and secure environment to all the citizens that come to las vegas" the shooting happened less than 24 hours after a different incident- where police say a man was stabbed near the linq and then fell into a fountain at caesars palace early sunday morning. vistors we talked to tonight say these violent incidents won't ruin their fun on the strip but they will keep an eye on thei surroundings. sot: "ridiculous because there's too many people around. they should have more security" sot seems like everyone is cool but a bunch of strangers that could do that too we're told the shooting suspect and both victims are from las vegas. those victims are in stable condition and are expected to survive. we're still waiting to learn more about the victim and suspect involved in

the shooting suspect has been booked two counts of attempted murder. two men are wanted for a deadly home- invasion this past weekend... and police believe it may have been over drugs. it happened near torrey pines and twain. surveillance video shows two suspects go inside the victim's home... then a gunshot can be heard. officers found a man's body inside. police say the two suspects were seen in a yellow moving truck... which was found by officers around the corner from the ho it was reported stolen. anyone with information on these two men should call police or crimestoppers at 7-0-2-3-8-5-55-55. a man is arrested in connection to several robberies. police say michael holt robbed a convenience store near flamingo and el capitan. he told the clerk he had a firearm. police believe holt is also responsible for two other robberies. one at a sandwich shop and another at a gas station -- near warm springs and durango. holt faces robbery and

"here in nevada we proved to the nation with our early vote turnout people are coming out in floods to vote not jut for hillary clinton but againt donald trump." that was clinton surrogate and nevada assembly member nelson arajuo. early voting in nevada did swing in favor of democrats by 5- percent... according to the nevada secretary of state. but the trump campaign is saying not so fast.... fox 5s cyndi lundeberg joins us now live from the trump headquarters with more on their plans to turn the john christine... one thing trump supporterrs here told me is they are very concerned with election rigging. they said that is one thing they will be watching for closely throughout tomorrows results. their last mintue strategy... and the clinton campaigns as are very similiar... phone bank... door knock... and put up as many last minute signs as possible.

to flip the silver state blue.... or red. we checked in with the trump and clinton campaigns.... on the final night before election day. ab- weve been walking phone banking people on corners rb- everirything were doing is voter contact its been an exciting day 100k person to person interactions talking to people on phones we expect to do that tomorrow going into tuesday's elections... both camps are mounting similar operations.. phone banking... knocking on doors... and putting up signs. a trump supporter we spoke to and their headquarters told me that's what almost got him into a physical altercation... ed- ive been putting trump signs out... and an hour later theyre gone we stopped at trump headquarters near mccaran airpot to see how they were looking for their final day of campaigning. it was bustlign with people running in and out... there were dozens of people on the phones... even kids

tell me they plant to meet at respective headquarters tomorrow mornign sometime around am and the clark county election policy is coming under fire... after poll locations stayed open late and let more people cast their ballots... on the last day of early voting. it was a record- breaking turnout this past friday. more than 57- thousand people cast their ballot. but -- there were concerns from the nevada republican party chairman michael mcdonald... about how late people were being allowed to vote. clark county registrar joe gloria says it's not rigged... but standard procedure. "...as long as voters show up on the last day of voting theres no limitation on our ability on our ability to process them to vote and so we stayed open until the last voters came through and thats in all areas of town" on election day the rules are different. the clark county

polls will close at seven sharp. 2016 has been a weird year... thats right, we've had this unpredictable presidential election, exploding phones, and sinister clowns... fox5's miguel martinez-valle went to speak to some of the people facing the most backlash from this year. he joins us now in the studio. thats right, its not easy to be a clown in 2016... but for those who feel this is their lives purpose... quitting is not an option, 200 people gathered at western region clown associations convention, where they learned the tricks of the trade, and discussed how to make people love them again. 2016 has been kind of a rough year, for some " the last six months have been very difficult, some of our members have been actually threatened, physically threatened." reports of sinister clowns popping up nation

fans are excited about how the team is looking this year... but some say they won't follow the raiders if they move to las vegas. several groups like "save oakland sports" and "stay in oakland" handed out signs... urging fans to send a message to raiders owner mark davis to not move the franchise. gaytan says: "i would not fly to las vegas. mister camera man, listen to what i'm saying. the fans are here. we were born here. we have championships here. we've been to the ground and back up here. the love is here." the groups also encourage raiders fans to write other n-f-l owners... who have a say in whether the team could re-locate. las vegas hockey fans will want to mark this on their calendars. the name and logo for the las vegas n-h-l franchise will be revealed in just a few weeks. it takes place tuesday... november 22nd. the big announcement starts at 5-30 p-m outside the t- mobile arena... which is the team's home.
