head in her own home... north las vegas police are explaining why nobody has been arrested yet. fox5's adam herbets found out... this was likely a domestic shooting, but there's more to the story. well the north las vegas police department has already interviewed all of the witnesses. there were only two other people inside the home... but the case is still under investigation... and of course that means -- the police can't say too much. but they did tell us this... they are still looking into the possibility that this was a murder... but they're also looking into the possibility that this could have been self- defense... or that the woman is the one who may have fired the gun. the police also told us -- they have never been called out to that address before for domestic violence. now -- we know the names of the people who lived here... but at this point, just for the family's privacy, we're not going to release the name of the victim or any suspects. it was a 47-year- old woman who lived there with

neighborhood say they were a nice couple. they were fun to talk to. they were helpful. and now all of these neighbors are just surprised to hear what happened... especially because nobody we spoke to heard the gunshot. they also say -- the day after the shooting -- the boyfriend moved out of the house and never came back. "me and our nextdoor neighbor right here, the filipino dude, had a few drinks -- just talked and laughed... just a nice neighbor. ...totally shocked i mean you really can't expect -- you really don k what somebody can do until they do it. " the police haven't released a timetable on when this investigation will be over... especially because they're waiting on a lot of forensic evidence to get back from the lab. but they keep stressing that they're looking into all possibilities. we're still trying to figure out who called 911. where is the gun... ... and who is the gun registered to? once we have that information -- we will let you know. live in the newsroom adam herbets fox 5 news local las

a mccarran airport employee has been sentenced for stealing more than 200 pieces of mail-- searching for cash and gift cards. 27-year-old martin lio is facing two and a half years of probation. he worked for a company called swissport and handled mail that was loaded into planes at mccarran. the u-s attorney's office says he would steal gift- card sized envelopes from trays-- hide them in his clothes-- and then open them in an employee bathroom. the attorney's office says he would throw away what he wouldn't take. lio was arrested in february after police found open letters in trash cans. if you're looking for something to do this weekend you can check out aviation nation at nellis air force base. it celebrates 75 years of airpower-- there will be a free air show and open house. aviation nation will showcase the history of american aviation and salute accomplishments by our military. there will be dozens of planes on display along with some of the newest military aircrafts. arieal demonstraitions start at 10-30

a special superhero is making an appearance at aviation nation this weekend. " the public of course whoever comes here on base, can get up close to the figure, and take selfies and have fun with it" a capatian america wax figure is being unveiled in honor of veterans day. the figure will be on dispay throughout aviation nation before it heads to madame tussaud's wax museum on monday. the museum's general manager says they wanted to launch the figure at nellis-- to show support of military members-- and that veterans day was the perfect time for it. the u-n-l-v runnin' rebels men's basketball team is kicking off their first game of the season tonight! the rebels will take on the south alabama jaguars. the game is set for 7 p-m at the thomas and mack center. same day tickets start at 17 dollars. tonight on fox5 news at 10-- fox5's sports director kevin bolinger will be live at the thomas and mack with highlights from the game. you can stay up- to-date... with fox

largest online shopping festival is underway in china. today marks the country's annual singles day. it's grown into the world's busiest day for e- commerce - bringing in billions of dollars in revenue for china's economy. the alibaba group says it posted sales of more than seventeen billion dollars in twenty four hours. singles day was started as a version of valentine's day for people without romantic partners. unattached young people would treat each other to dinner or give gifts to woo that special someone and end their single status. alibaba turned singles day into a shopping holiday in two thousand nine. if you haven't bought nintendo's n-e-s classic yet, you could be out of luck already-- they're in short supply! nintendo just released the throwback version yesterday for 60-dollars... and it's already sold out on amazon. best buy, gamestop and target are only selling the n-e-s classic in stores. good news is, if you really want the gaming system... sellers
