them. the holidays are not far off... and there might also be a real life grinch.. lurking and waiting to steal your packages! just recently .. a camera caught a woman stealing a package from a henderson home ... in broad daylight. now .. some on social media say it may not have been the first time this person has struck. fox5s faith tanner is live with more. it's a brazen crime... that's expected to only get worse as we get closer to the holidays. and now some neighbors are working together to prevent strangers from stealing their packages. a thief caught on home surveillance cameras quickly swiping a package off of this doorstep you feel violated because whether it was a dollar package or a thousand dollar package nobody has the right to just take something that's yours" the homeowners gary and kathy rosenfeld were away from their home.. they say this happened last week in their neighborhood near eastern and st rose.

nieghborhood. people near entertainer-- wayne newton's-- "casa de shandoah" property are upset over the peacocks that are roaming the streets. they say the birds scratch their cars... create traffic hazards and are leaving feces everywhere-- causing one dog to get sick. newton's team released a statement saying the birds arn't his... but neighbors aren't buying it and want them out as soon as possible. "they sleep and live over there but they always say we don't know where they stay but everybody knows." this is fox5 news at 10. local. las vegas. new tonight ... the clark county fire department is investigating a deadly fire in laughlin. the fire department says the fire happened at an apartment on needles highway sh before 6 tonight. when fire crews arrived they found smoke pouring from a second floor apartment.. that's where they found a person's body. no word tonight on who the person is .. or what caused the fire. a man has been arrested-- after deadly shooting inside a mobile home park over the weekend. this peter caris police say he shot and killed his neighbor after a fight. it happened saturday morning on ridge court -- near harmon and decatur. officers found the man's body in

hundreds of national guardsmen and women came together to get north las vegas prepared in case of an earthquake. for the first time ever-- the annual national guard drill was hosted in two states-- nevada and california. the two crews had to coordinate their resources to make sure everyone got out safely. the teams focused mainly on to the aftermath of a quake. officials of the city say the drill was successful. "most of all communities train but the scope and

really unprecedented both in our valley and nationally just with the 600 national guardsmen and women that are here in our community training." "this is a really good way to prepare and make sure we're really at the top of our game which i think we are. " the crews will continue with the drills from now through wednesday. people living in oklahoma are still picking up after an earthquake that struck more than a week ago. "beasley says: "almost every wall has cracking throughout the entire building. we have brick walls in there so a lot of the mortar has shaken loose. mean, we had to sweep up a whole trashcan of mortar so we know that there's cracking going on."
