most of the growth is expected in clark and washoe counties. police say a man is dead after being shot by his girlfriend while he was driving. 35-year-old cheryl rheamount is facing murder charges. police say the rheamount went to an apartment complex...and knocked on a door asking for someone to call police. it happened last night near lake mead and marion drive. the woman told police her boyfriend was still in the car in a desert area. she told police they got into a fight beofore she shot him. the man was taken to u-m-c where he later died. the c-d-c ranks las vegas as the 19-th riskiest city for h-i-v. one local start- up is raising awareness about the importance of testing. four police officers shot in separate incidents sunday. one of those incidents a fatal attack in texas, claiming the life of an officer on the force for two fox news correspondent casey stegall is in dallas with more. a dangerous weekend for police. an officer fatally shot in san antonio, texas while writing a traffic ticket in his squad car. fifty-year-old benjamin marconi attacked sunday morning outside police headquarters by a driver who pulled up from behind. a male suspect remains at large. mcmanus says: "..officers have been advised, communications has been advised, that when an officer makes a traffic stop, that he or she is to have cover." in saint louis, a

while sitting in traffic inside his police vehicle sunday evening. the 46-year old able to call for assistance... and is expected to survive. a suspect later shot and killed in a shootout with officers. slay says: "..he was shot twice in the face without provocation. this gives us a very strong idea of how dangerous it is to be a police officer." two other police officers also shot on sunday, one in gladstone, missouri and another in sanibel, florida... though it's not year clear if those attacks. the four incidents just the latest in a string of law enforcement shootings this year. two iowa officers were fatally shot while sitting in their patrol cars earlier this month... and there were high profile killings of police officers in dallas and baton rouge this summer. thanksgiving travelers can breath a sigh of relief. about five hundred workers at chicago's o'harel airport say they'll call off a strike until after thanksgiving. that announcement was made this morning by the local union officials. the workers say they want the public's support and wouldn't want to mess up anyone's hol plans. the union is helping the workers, who are seeking union rights and a fifteen dollar per hour wage. now fox5 weather 24/7 the system that brought showers and mountain snow around southern nevada is moving off to the east tonight. skies have cleared out and temperatures will be in the 40s overnight. look for plenty of sunshine on tuesday with

commissioner is making sure families in need can celebrate the holiday. iowa's governor pardoned two turkeys for this thanksgiving, with a special nod to the chicago cubs. and of course our very own bonanza high graduate. (terry branstad) "so now therefore i terry branstad, governor of iowa, hereby proclaim rizzo the turkey and bryant the turkey, free from the carving knives and gravy from this thanksgiving day." the turkeys are named bryant and rizzo, after two of the world series championship players. the turkeys will retire to living history farms for the rest of their days. meanwhile..... two more iowa turkeys were chosen to be pardoned by president obama during the annual ceremony at the white house on wednesday. thanks for joining us.. us.. fox5 news at 6 o'clock is straight
