have 5 black friday myths i'm about to doorbust all the way to the discount aisle. myth #1, black friday is the busiest shopping day of the year. completely false. christmas falls on a sunday this year so friday december 23rd procrastinators like dave hall will be scrambling for everyone on their list. in fact black friday ranks #3 for busiest shopping day. myth #2, black friday has the best deals of the year. busted again. the holiday shopping season is great for video games and electronics bu jewelry, cell phones, tools and especially clothing. january has great deals from all the items that haven't sold or were returned. myth #3 doorbusters are worth waiting in line for hours. busted again. target's doorbuster is a samsung 50-inch 4k tv for $397.99. sears has the same tv everyday for $479.99 a difference of $82 bucks. if you wait in line 24 hours your saving $3.41
8:20 am
myth #4 you save money. on average, americans pay $6,658 dollars in interest a year from all kinds of debt: credit cards, mortgage, students loans etc. this holiday analyst are expecting people to spend an average of $986 for gifts. if you only make minimum payments on that debt, it will cost you an extra $400 will you finally pay it off. myth #5 crowds are dangerous. true people have and will lose all sense d but over the years stores have done a much better job of crowd control and issuing voucher coupons to avoid causing shoppers to panic. also extra security is added. there you have it, 5 black friday myths busted. happy holidays everybody. love it or hate it, our n-h-l franchise has

knights... that's the name of our new nhl team.. owner bill foley unveiled t n today... and so far all of our rants are not liking the name.. mostly because it's vegas and not las vegas.. and why golden knights when desert knights and silver knights resonate more with what las vegas is. if you feel differently.. of course we'd like to hear from you. cox says.. golden knights for las vegas hockey team? i hope they knew that name was taken years ago by the united states army parachute team. beto says i don't know how

represents las vegas! we're known as the silver state! i guess we will get used to the name 'golden nights'. we have a caller! i think the name of the new hockey team is stupid. how are you supposed to cheer for a one syllable team name. it's not like let's go raiders! what are we going to hear. let's go knights! it's stupid. they didn't think of the fans at all when they got the name.19s we're getting the other side in the kerfuffle between the president elect and the cast of hamilton.. you know by now trump wants the cast to apologize after making a public appeal to his running mate who was in the audience. yesterday we had quite a few rants telling the president-elect to now the other side... voicemails! freedom of speech is one thing but being rude and tasteless is another. if you accost a customer coming into your place to enjoy an evening out, then you should be punished. 15 freedom of speech is a good thing but you're not there to put on a political display, you're there to put on a

(clinton) "it's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of donald trump is not in charge of the law in our country. (trump) "because you'd be in jail." it was a bold campaign promise.. one of several issues the president-elect is striking a softer tone on after the election. we'll have the latest on donald trump's transition. good morning it's 7: on this , welcome back to fox five news this morning. we'll have the we'll have the latest on all your top stories... but

first let's check in with cassandra jones for a look at your weather. good morning i'm cassandra jones with fox5. it will be warmer today as we pick up some breezy conditions across the valley with wins 10-20 mph expected. high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s. thanksgiving day will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid to low 60s. winds will be calmer around las

and bullhead city, gusts in excess of 30 mph will still be blowing out of the north. friday stays mostly clear with 60s before bigger changes arrive this weekend. a system moves in late saturday afternoon with stronger winds and the chance of a few showers later saturday evening. the shower chance will continue into sunday with temperatures falling into the upper 50s on sunday. monday and tuesday are trending cooler with high temperatures holding in here is a look at your drive here are the accidents to watch out and alternate routes you can use listed on our maps here are the construciton areas to look out for and alternate routes listed on our maps here are your photos for the day back to the news desk. the good news. i'm a huge sports

all morning long. he joins us now in studio with some of the best reactions.. here's the thing about social media... people love to argue and fight... about everything... in fact... there's only two things all people like... funny cat videos... and this goat dressed up as elsa... that's it! so when word came down that our new team would be called the "vegas golden knights"... the social media snark was unleashed. let's start with robert horton on our fox5 facebook page... saying "gold" is for rich ppl and i'm poor, "knights" are typically strong courageous men, and i'm a coward behind a cell phone screen. not a fan we're guessing? taggart baranowski is.. he posted this funny meme from austin powers saying "i love golllddd" on twitter.. john ryan attacked the haters.. saying "nobody thought the columbus "blue jackets" was a good name but can you imagine the columbus team with any other name? stop hating #goldenknights".. other teams were very welcoming. the pittsburgh penguins... welcoming us to the n-h-l..
8:34 am
our way.. saying "we're ready for you" here's my favorite though... from our twitter friend leo... the vegas golden knights cheerleaders... the golden girls... if rose... dorothy.. .blanche and sophia can't fire up the crowd... who can?? bottom line... whether you like the golden knights or not... bill foley wrote the check... so bill foley gets to pick the name... one of the most iconic teams in all of sports is the l.a. lakers... the lakers... that was the nickname given to them when they played in minneapolis... being called the lakers made sense in minneapolis... it makes no sense in l.a... but can you imagine them them not being called the l.a. lakers?? the golden knights will be like a shot of novacaine... just give it a little time... the pain will wear off.

when the raiders propose the move to las vegas at a meeting in january. in national headlines this morning.. some computer scientists want hillary cliton's campaign to ask for a recount in 3 key states.. pennsylvania, wisconsin and michigan. the scientists say it's strange that clinton received 7-percent fewer votes in counties that use votes in counties that use electronic voting machines. so they say the machines could have been manupulated or hacked, even though they haven't seen any evidence of that. they still believe the pattern is significant enough to require an independent review. it's no secret that a lot of people were upset after a very divisive presidential election.. but some folks have taken their anger to whole new level. they want to break up... with the united states. specifically california.. some people
