thanksgiving dinner. on the flip side, another 43- percent of americans say they are eager to talk politics. if you want to avoid a red-hot main course, leave your political views at the door. the las vegas rescue mission is making sure those living on our valley streets have a hot meal to eat for the holiday. "a meal that all of us think of as being around tables with family and celebrating and being thankful, to have a place like this and be place that we can provide for families to come and have that experience when maybe they don't have any other place to go." the mission serves hundreds of thanksgiving meals every year. they also hold a blanket and winter clothing drive so everyone outside can stay warm. they're expecting about 12-thousand people to be in and out of the facility over the holiday. catholic charities of southern nevada will also be preparing food this thanksgiving. more than 125 volunteers are hard at work right now, preparing to serve 15-hundred holiday meals. the tradition dates back to 19- 65. and sticking with

nobody will be turned away at the door. the team will be serving the special meals from 10 to 11 this morning. speaking of final preparations... millions of americans will be watching as giant balloons float down new york's sixth avenue for the macy's thanksgiving day parade it's the most famous parade in the country. and this year, "trolls" and "diary of a wimpy kid" balloons will join the lineup. this is the 90th year of the parade. and organizers say there will be plenty of surprises, including one of the very first balloons ever, felix the cat. "we're doing a lot of looking back at our own history, but we've also got some surprises."
