i'm faith tanner. i'm adam herbets. police tell us it could be gang related. fox5's abby theodros joins us live near sunset and fremont after talking with police abby: we don't have a name yet but police tell me theyve had previous interactions with the victim and believe he is gang affiliated he's in his 30s he was shot in his chest and it all happened inside the first lower level apartment you see behind me after the victim was shot they say a ma 20s helped move him from inside the apartment to the alleyway vo that woman was inside the apartment when police arrived. they detained her and are questioning her. they're also questioning another man who was in the area of the shooting when it happened. but again police tell us there are historic gang problems in this

nats -- cash register "this is the busiest day for the mall" and not just galleria mall -- but at shops across the valley as deal hunters took to stores shops and malls in search for some black friday bargains. "im looking for deals" "traditionally this is where everybody looks to make their money on black friday and moving into the retail season in december" but shops told me this year, the day got off to a slower than usual start... "we started a little slow this morning at 6 am..." good news for some of the later-rising bargain hunters. "we kind of regretted sleeping in, but it didn't really make a difference" but not for stores looking to kick off the holiday shopping season with a bang. nats galleria mall general manager kevin budny says despite the slow start, things picked up throughout at the day as shoppers filled the mall...

friday deals happening all over the valley. the "north premium outlet" had people waiting all night to get into stores. of course that location and the south outlet are always packed for black friday... especially because when you're at an outlet the prices are already discounted in the first place! shoppers were there to offer advice to anyone still planning to head out a grab some bargains. "this is what we do every year it's a tradition. we shop all night and once we're down here we're going to head down to primm." "strategize. strategize your evening shopping for sure." "have a plan." "have a plan." the north and south premium outlets offers deals year round. they both open at 9 a-m everyday. if you're looking for a new furry friend to spend the holiday season with-- the animal foundation is waiving adoption fees... for black friday! the waiver lasts

monday. it's part of the zappos "home for the paw-lidayz" adoption special. zappos is reimbursing the shelter for those fees. there are more than 120 dogs... and 24 cats that need new homes. adoption fees normally range between 25 and 250 dollars. the malls aren't the only places that are crowded today. a lot of people headed to the gym to work-off all that thanksgiving food. "lifetime athletic" in henderson opened at 5 a-m today for anyone who felt the need to burn off the calories. they say-- if you want to over- indulge a little bit on special occasions... you're good! but if you want to stay in shape... you have to be willing to put in work before and after the big meal. "i would've felt not just guilty, i would've not felt good. it feels good to come to the gym and workout. it feels very good, especially after you eat a lot because you have all that energy. food gives energy." special classes. the ice rink returns at the cosmopilitan hotel today. the rink just opened up at the boulevard pool... about an hour ago. it's the fifth year the pool has been transformed into the winter wonderland above the strip. to kick off the opening-- the rink is partnering with the "tao group cares" charity. anyone who brings in a toy to donate... will get one free skate rental. there are food and drink specials offered at the rink... and weekly movie nights. police say a woman hit by a train yesterday afternoon is expected to be okay. it happened on owens avenue near the i-15. police say she was on the bridge crossing over when she was hit... and that's when the fire department took her to university medical center. police say she was homeless and lived in the area where it happened. a man is now behind bars... after robbing a business... and then leading police on a high speed chase. police say the man held up a subway... near sahara and eastern.

recount votes in three key states ... is picking up steam. former presidential candidate jill stein has now raised more than four-and-a-half million dollars for a vote recount. she says voting security experts originally alerted clinton's campaign to the possibility of hacks in wisconsin, pennsylvania, and michigan. earlier today, green party officials held a press event in milwaukee to talk about the plan. " what we are saying is that there's enough peripheral evidence to warrant that our system should be investigated. we're not doing this to the benefit of one candidate over the other. we're doing this for the benefit of the

that we can trust that our votes are counted." other experts are very skeptical when they hear the election could have been rigged. one online analysis says that the hacking claim "doesn't check out" statistically and that there was no clear evidence that the voting method used in any county -- by machine or by paper -- had an effect on the vote. it's starting to look a lot like christmas at the white house. first lady michelle obama kicked off her final decking of the halls today-- it's been an annual 1966 -- the first lady watches as this year's official white house christmas tree was delivered for the blue room. a horse-drawn carriage brought the tree to the front white house drive -- as a four- piece military band played "o christmas tree." michelle obama was joined by her nephews austin and aaron robinson... the first pets bo and sunny... and the national tree contest award

a hiker who fell about 80 feet near red rock canyon has been rescued. metro's search and rescue team got called out there at about 5 p-m last night... looking for a man who fell from a trail called epinephrine. the search lasted 12 hours. police say the man, who is in his twenties, was taken to u-m-c and is expected to be okay.

police say an 11- year-old was killed... after an a-t-v- crash. they say it happened wednesday near burro creek crossing. a 12-year-old girl was driving the a- t-v... with the 11-year- old passenger. police say the a- t-v went into a shallow ditch... and hit a bank... causing it to flip over. both girls were thrown from the four wheeler. the driver had a minor injury... while the passenger died at the crash site. police are saying speed was not a factor in the crash. police are looking for a murderer involved in a deadly road rage incident in reno. they say someone was shot and killed near this walmart on thanksgiving night. the shooter took off... and police say the argument that led up to it... was over a parking space. lt. scott shaw, reno police: "it looks it was some sort of road rage incident, we don't have any other information that it was linked to any shopping activities or anything like that at this point."" the walmart where the shooting happened stayed open for black friday shoppers. actress florence henderson... who played the mom on "the brady

her manager says she died of heart failure last night. the 82-year-old actress was surrounded by family and friends at the hospital in los angeles. but her manager says henderson was not sick... and her friends and family are shocked by her death. henderson played carol brady-- one of television's most famous moms-- on the sitcom. the show that started in 19-69... became a huge hit in syndication and led to several spin-offs and movies. henderson's ow family when she was 12-years old. the actress later said that carol brady was essentially the mom she always wished she had. the runnin-rebels men's basketball team is tipping off tonight at thomas and mack. the rebels take on t-c-u for the "global sports classic." there are four games scheduled for today and tomorrow. the rebels will face either washington or western kentucky tomorrow. and the winner of tonight's games will face off in the tournament's championship saturday.

their third winning streak tuesday over nothern arizona. a big thanksgiving day surprise for a couple in new york. austin and terrice thomas were on their way to the hospital to deliver a baby. but-- they didn't get there. instead-- they pulled over on a parkway in yonkers... when the baby decided it was time to come out. on a day full of football games-- austin made the "catch of the day." austin thomas says "..i saw the baby's head; the baby's head was out. so he was saying to me, 'listen the baby's going to be slippery, you got to catch it. don't let it fall, you got to catch the baby." firefighters checked the baby's vital signs. the family is doing fine at the local hospital. a christmas ornament sold on amazon is causing a political uproar on the internet. how the reviews are turning into a sounding board of critism of the new president elect. and how much people are shelling out.... to make their christmas tree great again.

wonderful message of friendship on thanksgiving for a stranger and a couple in arizona. jamal hinton and wanda dench.. are giving thanks for a new relationship. both were strangers a week ago-- but the internet made them friends. when dench sent a message about thanksgiving plans... meant for someone else-- hinton got it and responded. 'selfies' were exchanged and-- dench said to come for thanksgiving anyway. hinton says "..i indeed it was not my grandma as we all know now and i sent one back so she could confirm that i'm not her grandson and i thought why not ask for a plate jokingly and she was very welcoming and let me in." there are plans in the works for the families to eventually meet. in the meantime-- both say they've got a lot to be grateful for, including each other. disney's "moana" broke a record in its first day in theaters. and it's sailing toward an even bigger debut at number one than predicted. rick damigella has that story

hollywood minute. "did not see that coming." but industry analysts did! disney's "moana" was already projected to top the thanksgiving weekend box office, but pundits' predictions have been updated. "moana" was originally pegged to open in the range of $75 million dollars, but the wrap reports it could now sail away with 80 million while deadline's revised estimates put it as high as 90 million. (nat) make your plans now for movies to watch in december... of 20-18! the hollywood reporter says peter jackson's adaptation of "mortal engines" will release on december 14th, 20-18. jackson co-wrote the film but isn't directing. meanwhile, variety reports 20th century fox will release an untitled james cameron film on december 21st, 20-18. the industry paper speculates the movie could be the long-awaited sequel to "avatar."
