"we live right up here and apparently it was right around where we park our car so that is definitely a big concern. "anyone that would victimize a child like this is ab the worst offenders we have and this is absolutely the type of person we have all hands on deck and we use every resource to go after." every resource...to make sure this man doesn't attack another child. was light outside... they think it was a combination of the girl escaping from the man and the man getting scared of getting caught so he walked off. he is described as a white male with a thin build and light brown hair or salt and peppered hair. he was last seen wearing black jeans and a blue shirt. again, they urge anyone that may know anything to please contact them immediately. they desperately want this dangerous man off the streets. the other big story today ... an attack leaves 9 students injured on the campus of the ohio state university.. and students in shock. 4:03 pm
but he says that doesn't mean he and his department are not prepared to handle such a situation.... he tells me its all about hoping for the best... and preparing for the worst.... i'm told u-n-l-v police go through at least a dozen seminars per year.. along with two active shooter simualtions per year... they tell me today they had several meetings to go over.. possible situations.. and review protocol... when their is an emergency.. dispatch will send out alerts to the cell phones of teachers and faculty... similar to what happened back in july when a false active shooter alert was distributed... u-n-l-v said even though it was a mistake... it proved to be positive.. by showing that in case of an emergency.. the system works.. "i never feel 100% protected or a 100% ready simply because of the unknown, you never know what you might have to confront, i am comfortable for after the fact to articulate we did
