good morning i'm dave hall. and i'm maria silva. we begin with new developments on monday's ohio state university attack. the ohio state university police officer who shot and killed the suspect is being praised this morning for ending the situation about a began. cnn's karin caifa joins us live from cleveland as investigators continue to search for a motive. good morning karin--- ((ad-lib))

and university officials monday said he was the perpetrator of a violent campus attack. monica moll / osu dir. of public safety: the suspect drove his vehicle into a group of pedestrians. there were some injuries that resulted from that. the suspect then got out of the vehicle with a knife and began cutting individuals in the area the question now: is why? federal law enforcement officials say they are looking at facebook postings, purportedly the suspect's -- grievances about attacks on muslims, and a reference to anwar al-awlaki, american-born al- qaeda cleric. the writings, they say, posted close to the time of the attack. authorities, however, caution against rushes to judgment. meanwhile, the university is crediting one of its campus officers, 28-year-old alan horujko, for his quick response. the officer shot the suspect, when he refused orders to drop his weapon, within minutes of the start of the attack. ohio state university president doctor michael drake said preparedness was key in this not being far worse. michael drake / president, ohio state university:

weekend with temperatures pushing closer to 60 degrees. a woman has been sitting behind bars for the past 15 years for a murder she says she didn't commit. two months prior to the crime she told friends a man attacked her, so she pulled out a knife and slashed him. she says those statements were used against her to convict her of the man's murder. but as fox5's cyndi lundeberg explains, a nevada supreme court ruling says there's even that may have been overlooked.

to death and leave no evidence at the crime scene and come up with male dna at the crime scene and happen to wear men shoes that ady or she didnt do it a week prior to the murder... a woman named diann parker told police bailey had raped her... and told police bailey was going to kill her. i dont know of a criminal investigation where a woman is raped and then that rape suspect is murdered and the police barely interview the bf of the rape victim and the rape kirstin lobato was convicted twice of the crime... lobato appealed her convction... but the judge denied her appeal. however the nevada supreme court ruled unanimously that there is evidence in this case that must be looked at... stephen jackson- the nevada supreme court said youve been too hasty you didnt do an indepth look into whether or nto her claims were valid you need to do an indepth look into those claims for now kirstin

has... to plea her innocence. in february we spoke to her over the phone... this is what she wanted to say to those who doubt her innocence. blaise- i think a lot of people are skpetical and so i would say dont listen to me dont listen to anyone look at the evidence and form your own opinion because the facts speak for themselves stephen jackson- shes either the greatest criminal in the world or she didnt do it cyndi lundeberg fox5 news local las vegas>> the boyfriend of diann parker, the woman raped by duran bailey signed an affidavit. in it he says it was parker's friends who murdered bailey to protect parker. police have also never been able to prove kirsitn lobato knew or had ever associated with duran bailey. this is a very complicated case, you can find more information about kirstin lobato in a fox5 series called "guilty until proven innocent." just head to our

vegas dot com. drivers should prepare for significant delays right now on the 215 near mccarran airport. the eastbound lanes of the 2-15 will be closed until 5 a-m. crews are working to finish installing parts of a new flyover ramp that goes over the beltway. traffic is being diverted to the northbound side of the airport connector. this is the second closure in the area so far this month. but we have some good news for drivers, we're told this is the last full freeway closure that's planned for the airport connector at 2-15. the project should wrap up by next october. the push for a higher minimum wage continues today. this time, hundreds of uber drivers are planning to join other hourly workers in the fight. the group 'fight for 15' says uber drivers in several cities will 'put their foot to the brake' today to march with other industry workers like fast food and airport employees. they will be calling for a 15- dollar an hour minimum wage. uber drivers are

aggressive fare cuts and other expenses like gas, repairs and insurance. several major u-s cities have already raised the minimum wage to 15-dollars an hour. here at home, there are two "fight for 15" strikes planned for today. the first one starts at 6 a-m at the mcdonald's on the strip, across from the mirage. tonight's demonstration will begin at the carl's junior by the stratosphere before marching to the mcdonald's at paradise and sahara. the local "fight for 15" group says to demonstrations will be their quote "most disruptive protest yet." we will take you live to the 6 a-m protest. a worn-out beaten-up old sign welcoming people to the city of north las vegas will be replaced today. here's a look at the existing sign at pecos and owens. at 1:30 p-m, north las vegas mayor john lee will join students from tom williams elementary school to unveile the new sign. the old sign has fallen into disrpair due to grafitti and

case of zika. texas health officials say the virus was likely spread by local mosquitos. the case was confirmed last week by a lab test.

virus lives in a city that shares a border with mexico, but she had never traveled there. the good news is the woman is not pregnant. as you may recall, the zika virus can cause devastating birth defects in newborns. the first u-s cases of zika transmission were reported over the summer in miami. a state-of-the-art bandage is giving users an early warning of infection. the smart bandage glows bright yellow, warning the user that the wound become infected british scientists developed the smart bandages that turn yellow if the . existing methods of detecting infections can take up to 48 hours to come through - as well as removing wound dressings, which can be painful and distressing. removal of bandages can also cause scarring. the bandages are currently undergoing clinical trials with burns victims at four u-k hospitals. dementia is a general term for memory loss, which can be so severe in some people that it interferes with their day-to-day

was partially funded by the national institutes of health and was published in jama internal medicine. for today's health minute, i'm kim hutcherson.>> an amusement park in japan is apologizing for freezing 5- thousand fish in a skating rink. the park closed the attraction sunday. check this out, more than 20 species of dead fish and other sea life can be seen under the ice. the fish were positioned to make it look like they were swimming below the ice. one formation spelled out the word "hello." "space world" says the fish were purchased from a fish market and were dead before they were frozen in the water. the owners were hoping to create what they call an "ice aquarium". the aquarium plans to hold an "appropriate religous service" for the fish and then turn them into fertilizer. a double amputee is inspiring others to shoot for the stars, no matter the challenges you have to overcome. this is 15-year-old jahkee johnson. he was born with a rare disease, so both of his legs were amputated below
