is your emergency?" caller: hi. i'm at ohio state right outside of watts hall and there was a guy who crashed his car into a bunch of people and ran out with a knife taking down people." operator: "franklin county 911." caller: "yeah. i'm on the ohio state campus. there's been a--i think there's some type of terror attack...because they guy ran across through a crowd of students. he did it purposely." the 18-year old man who attacked students at ohio state may have ties to a somali terror group. monday's incident left eleven people injured, at least one critically. the suspect was killed by a police officer less than a minute after the attack began. fox's kelly wright has the latest from washington.

artan drove into a crowd on campus... and then got out of his car and stabbed students until a police officer shot and killed him. eleven people were injured in the incident. king says: "i believe this has all the indicators of terrorism. i will be surprised if it is not. obviously we can't make a final conclusion but everything is there. somali refugee. the type of attack. hitting people with his vehicle." muslim leaders are now condemning the attack... and believe the alone. nimer says: "we would like to urge everyone not to jump to conclusions and let investigators do their jobs. responding to acts of violence with hate is never the solution." but some experts believe abdul may be connected to a terror network tied to the somali terror group al- shabaab. schaffer says: "this was an act of terror by everyone's definition. i think we have to accept at this point in time there are cells

functioning within these larger communities." witnesses are now describing their reaction to the moments when the violence broke out. mos says: "and then, people were like really running, and like really screaming. i'm like this is, somethings going on. then i heard the three gunshots and from about that same area, and i was like uhhh crap, what do i do." (on-cam tag) the motive of the attack is now under investigation. in washington, kelly wright, fox news.>> the ohio state university shooting college campuses across the country, ramping up security. u-n-l-v's police chief says the campus has never had to deal with an active shooter situation, but that doesn't mean they aren't prepared. u-n-l-v police go through at least a dozen seminars and two active shooters simulations every year. test alerts also go out to students and staff. to solve the case. president obama has signed a bill into law that aims to end long wait times for the v-a crisis line. the goal is to get these vets in touch with a qualified person in a timely manner. the bill creates a quality assurance process. the embattled v-a system has been dealing with long wait times for several years now. the new legislation signed monday comes after federal investigators substantiated allegations that some calls went into a voicemail system and that some veterans didn't get immediate here at home, u-s vets in downtown las vegas is undergoing a major renovation. a team will kick off plans to expand the organization's kitchen today. u-s vets provides housing, counseling, career development and support to military veterans and their families. the project will add one-thousand square feet of new kitchen space, that will include a walk-in refrigerator and storage area, a commercial oven and cooktop. it will also be wheelchair accessible. the work should be completed in

"blue star mothers" is spreading holiday cheer by preparing stockings to send to troops overseas. today the group will be putting stocking together to thank them for their service and help brighten their holidays. members of the henderson community will be helping assemble the stocking today. the event starts at 9:30 this morning at the henderson convention center. the stockings will be sent to service men and women who are currently stationed overseas. now that black frid business saturday and cyber monday are over, its time for giving tuesday. giving tuesday is a popular time of year for people to make donations and raise awareness for local non-profit organizations. some of those organizations include big brothers, big sisters... safe nest... shade tree and opportunity village. today las vegas mayor carolyn goodman will sign a declaration designating november 29, 2016 as giving tuesday. peter dawson joins us live at 5 a-m to explain how you can get involved in the global movement las vegas, rio and

passing of fidel castro, many cuban americans are celebrating the passing of the former leader. last night, th chanting "libertad" meaning freedom at a celebration in miami, florida. miami police shut down major streets at one point - when the crowd grew to more than 35- hundred people. meantime in cuba, thousands are waiting in long lines to pay their final respects to the leader many there viewed as a revolutionary. in the wake of fidel castro's death, the first scheduled commercial flight from the u-s to havana in more than 50 years landed monday. passengers arrived during an official 9-day mourning period, as cubans packed

up one thing for a day and use that money to help others. people are posting pictures of the things they've given with the hashtag "my sacrifice for the day." it can be anything, even if it's something simple like a cup of coffee or lunch. the student is a navy veteran herself so she says she understands the struggles vets face.
