we start with breaking news. a man -- considered armed and dangerous -- is wanted for a shooting another man. this is 33-year-old max cook. police say cook shot a man several times during a fight with him and another woman. it happened at a mobile home park earlier this month -- near nellis and owens. the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. a warrant has been issued for cook on several charges... including attempted murder. if you know anything about the shooting or where cook might be... call police or crimestoppers. the number is 7-0- 2-385-5555. racist letters being sent to people across the valley... and the paper those hateful notes are written on -- comes from a neighborhood homeowners association in spring valley. fox5s eric hilt

police say the man that shot and killed his own son last night is 49- year-old michael gardenhire. police were at the apartment complex off south rainbow on a different call when they heard gunshots from one of the other buildings. they say gardenhire came out of the building and told them he shot his son. fox5's kathleen jacob joins us live outside of the covington at coronado ranch apartments where this happened after talking to neighbors... kathleen? christine...john... a very sad story... police still don't know what exactly led up to this father shooting and killing his own son... but it's something that has neighbors shocked and sad... especially during the holiday season. it breaks my heart. i've lived in a lovely home, i couldn't imagine anyone shooting their own son especially with the holidays, we just got through thanksgiving. lahela kaiwi is still in shock at what
