could soon be a thing of the past as more strip properties announce they too will start charging for parking m-g-m properties.. caesars entertainment.. and wynn resorts are all adding fees.. but most people we talked to weren't thrilled about handing over the extra cash. "it would affect how many times we came down here that's for sure" butt to sot : "we came here 43 years ago where we could stay at a hotel for 19 dollars, so things have changed!" at wynn... valet will now cost 13 to 18 dollars. caesars will charge from 8 to 18 dollars. m-g-m resorts started the trend back in june. locals can park for free.. for now at least.. but starting december 29th m-g-m will start charging locals to park. station casinos says it will continue to offer free parking to its guests. all aboard! the

streets of downtown... this saturday--- there will be a sea of santas.... for the the las vegas great santa run it's not too late for you to join in the fun. festivities kick off at nine a-m and the five k starts at ten a-m and it is all for a good cause--- the santa run benefits opportunity people across the valley have been receiving random, racist letters... seemingly from a local h-o-a and a lawfirm. letters. leach has since reached out to local law enforcement and the f-b-i.. to try and stop the letters. the presidential election just keeps on going. nearly a month since voters went to the polls.. 5 counties in nevada will have their votes recounted. an independent candidate has paid 14-thousand dollars.. to have recounts done across the state.. including here in clark county. roque de la fuente received the fewest votes in the state.. but says he wants to counter balance jill stein. who has requested recounts in three states. the recount in wisconsin will start first thing this morning. and clerks say they are nervous.. because it feels like the entire nation is watching them. wisconsin county workers will have to count all the ballots in just a week and a half. "i've been through 97 elections .. but i'm counting this one twice.. " butt to well you know it's one of those things where you just start taking one step in front of the other.. including members of a brazilian soccer team. during recorded conversations with air traffic control.. the flight crew said they were suffering from complete electrical failure and had low fuel levels. it is still not clear why the plane crashed.. but investigators are working on de-coding the black box.. which was found in quote "perfect condition". protests popped up overnight in charlotte.. after a north carolina prosecutor announced the officer who fatally shot keith lamont scott will not face charges.. saying the shooting was justified. "our determination is that at that time, his belief was reasonable that he was in imminent threat of death or the death of his fellow officers, and that he was justified in shooting." scott's death gained national attention.. after a home- video surfaced of the shooting. some witnesses say scott was shot.. after police saw a book in his hand.. but prosecutors

had a gun. the officer is not being charged.. but his conduct is still being investigated. protesters in north dakota have been told they have to leave by sunday.. or they will face arrest.. but now a local tribe says the government is threatening much more. the governor issued his with threats of cutting off our food supplies. we responded by saying that is an act of war. young says by cutting off food... they would be committing genocide. more people are now heading to stand with the protesters.. including a group of veterans. the death toll continues to rise in tennessee.. as a raging wildfire rolls through the eastern half of the state. authorities are now getting a closer look at the damage.. and say they believe the blaze may have been "human caused" greg miller/ gatlinburg fire chief: those high winds were knocking down trees. those trees were hitting power lines. and they were falling on this very dry, extreme

population will have ptsd at some point in their lives. when a minneapolis man was diagnosed with cancer.. he was told he only had a few years to live.. but he decided.. he wasn't going to waste a single moment. don wright took off running.. and thousands of miles later.. he's still has a lot further to go. wright says: "i just love the feeling of floating by, drifting past the scenery and i just feel like i'm sticking that cancer in the eye." wright ran a marathon... just to check it off his bucket list.. but he fell in love with running.. and has completed 100 since. wright says: "the docs say having an upbeat spirit is a good thing to help with treatment of any disease and running does some good -- that would be the reason. it's a very upbeat thing for me."

surveillnace sytems... then register them with metro police. metro says they will only look at the system if there's a crime. so they won't always be watching.. but they save having video helps them solve crimes faster. metro will be holding a press conference this morning.. to release more information about the program. nevada is getting a piece of a nearly 250-million dollar national grant.. to help develop early learning programs. 13-million dollars will go towards pre-schools in nevada.. and will help low-to moderate income families. the state says they want to use the money for teacher salaries... expanding half- day programs and making class sizes smaller. santa is a staple of the holiday season.. but an oregon school district is banning mr. claus.. to respect their stsudents' all religions. the school district says they aren't trying to be the grinch... but they want all their students to

and religions like judaism and islam don't celebrate with ol' saint nick. jason ramirez, father: if you're going to put a giant cross on the window that's one thing, but i think santa claus is more folklore and american history than a religious simple at this point. beth graser, communications director, hillsboro school district: it's not meant to be that at all. again, it's just really a reminder to get people to be sensitive. many schools in the portland area already have similar policies. a two year old little girl is without her mom this holiday season.. after her 21- year-old mother died in a car crash over the weekend.. now her community is coming together.. to give the little girl the christmas gift she's always wanted. breaking news out of washington an officer is dead.. after being shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call. it happened in tacoma, washington. police entered a standoff with the suspect around 5-30 yesterday afternoon. and it lasted until 3-30 this morning. the suspect was shot and killed by the 45-year-old officer was a 17 year veteran of the force we're learning more about the colombian plane crash.. that killed 71 people.. including members of a brazilian soccer team. during recorded conversations with air traffic control.. the flight crew said they were suffering from complete electrical failure and had low fuel levels. it is still not clear why the plane crashed.. but investigators are working on de-coding the black box..

holiday toy drive starts today at all clark county fire stations. the fire department is partnering with the southern nevada burn foundation for the 15th annual toy drive. now through december 18th, you can donate new, unwrapped toys or gift cards at any clark county fire station. your donations will benefit local kids who would otherwise go without presents this year. look how pretty. this is a live look at lee canyon.. which has been getting so much snow lately.. and in just a couple days.. you'll be able to hit the slopes. next friday, december 9-th.. the ski resort is expected to open for buisness. chairlifts will start running at 9 a-m.. and will stay open unti 4 in the afternoon.

students in arizona are one step closer to claiming a guiness world record for the longest high five chain these students took a break from their classwork to try and beat the previous record of 2,711 consecutive high fives set in taiwain last year... official judges were there to make sure the students took no longer than 10 seconds in between the connection of the high five... but they knew what they were doing... mos 2 says: "good high five is above your head or at your head. bad h five is down below" guinness says that they record about 45-thousand records...but only four-thousand make it into the big book... so the students are going to have to wait patiently to see if their high fives made the cut. posing for the perfect driver license photo can be tough. yeah, between the weird lighting and d-m-v attendants who seem to snap
