at the wasabi restaurant just outside of prairie du chien. 42-year old young su kim, airlifted to a hospital in lacrosse with severe head trauma. crawford county sheriff arresting jacob erwin, kellen jeffords and thomas wilkins, all from illinois in town working on a railroad. kwwl's brad hanson spent some time talking to people who knew the restaurant's owner. he's back in the t-h media newsroom in dubuque with our top story tonight at ten. those who know key, as they call him, tell me he's one of the nicest guys in the world. and they're shocked something so violent could've happened to him. "i was awestruck" chad trautsch's reaction when he heard what happened just next door at the wasabi japanese restaurant. (chad trautsch, owner, computer support plus)"that stuff just doesn't happen here. you have your few little things, a few burglaries, maybe a broken window. but nothing like for his own worker's safety after the man everyone calls key, was beaten and found bloody in his own restaurant. he says he has a great relationship with his neighbor. "we kinda had this running game, me and him. we would

provide him with tech support, and he would provide us with sushi, and that was kind of our relationship. he's a great neighbor and a great guy." more than one person vouching for the quality of his character--and his food. (frank finley, prairie du chien) "for sushi, it's probably the best. i've actually had sushi overseas too, and i'd say it's far over that. it's the best sushi i've eaten anywhere." the restaurant now closed as key fights for his life and many wonder why it happened. "i don't know why it happened, i guess that's the first thing. i know what the real motivation so i guess the answer to the question would be why?"

clinton is scheduled to appear in iowa saturday for a free rally in des moines. paul ryan is officially running for speaker of the house. the wisconsin representative sending a letter to member of the house republican conference declaring his candidacy. ryan called for the republicans to agree on his terms and rally around him earlier this week. a member of the iowa board of regents says they may have "dropped the ball" when it comes to the search for the new president at the university of iowa. subhash sahai says the hiring of bruce harreld could seem like the 9-member board was biased; however, sahai did say the

university needs to give harreld a chance to do his job. but the hiring still isn't sitting well with some... protestor nats - 5 seconds... these protestors gathered outside yesterday's board of regents meeting in iowa city.. they are demanding the regents resign because of how they handled harreld's hiring... and even more drastically -- they want the entire board of regents to resign. today -- a new group called iowans defending our universities organized this protest. four to five- hundred people gathered to be a part of the protest. many people believe harreld was hand picked without real consideration for the other three candidates -- upsetting many students. "there's a real anger, that we've been so disrespected. we are being treated like idiots really by these, like they don't, do they not know that everyone knows exactly what they're doing?" some think harreld's background as a buinessman is not right to lead the university. he was hired back on september third. decision 2015... soon a new mayor will take office in the city of waterloo. five candidates will be on that november ballot. kwwl's nikki newbrough spoke with former mayor tim hurley and has his story. tim hurley born and raised in waterloo. for 37 and a half years he worked at john deere, but mayor, but this year he decided to come back and try it again." the fast food chain says u-s sales rose just under one percent -- while global sales jumped four percent in this year's third quarter. the company says its due to menu improvements and food changes. mcdonald's c-e-o says he expects sales to improve in the fourth quarter as well -- partially due to the recent launch of all-day breakfast. the largest electronics company in the u-s will offer free shipping -- without any restrictions -- for the upcoming holiday season. best buy announcing the change -- effective this sunday. in the past -- customers usually had to spend at least 35 dollars to get free shipping. it's the first time best buy is offering free shipping since 2012. nike is set to open its first-ever michael jordan exclusive store. fans already camping out in chicago ahead of the store's
