potentially catastropic. hurricane patricia is a category five storm -- on its way to mexico's southwestern coast. here's a look at the storm from a satellite view. patricia could weaken a bit -- making landfall along mexico's southwestern coast with winds of 175 miles an hour. strong winds, violent waves, potential mudslides. that could be just part of what patricia brings. right now, police are walking up and down the waterfront in puerto vallarta -- telling people to leave. we heard from one midwestern travel agency today -- that said

it's keeping a very close eye on how patricia is affecting resort areas -- and if necessarly, will let people know if their trips taken as scheduled. at least 40 people are dead in a bus crash. it happened in france. a bus and truck crashed -- then both caught fire. at least eight people were able escape. decision 2016 coverage today -- and there's a lot going on today. first, one of the democrats in the race for the white house... is now out. this morning, lincoln chafee said he's suspending his campaign. earlier this week former virginia senator jim webb also dropped out of the race. both men were scheduled to be at tomorrow's jefferson-jackson dinner in des moines -- along with martin o'malley, bernie sanders and hillary clinton. now to another big development this morning. hillary clinton is back on top in iowa -- among likely democratic caucus goers. that's according to a new quinnipiac university poll released this morning... the survey show clinton now leads sanders by 11 points.

september had sanders one point ahead of clinton in iowa. there's a new leader in the gop race -- which is clear after two polls in two days. the des moines register/bloomberg poll out this morning -- shows dr. ben carson with a nine point lead over donald trump in iowa. it's the second poll in two days -- with basically the same separation between the two. as we told you yesterday -- carson also came in first in the quinnipiac university poll of likely caucus-goers in iowa. carson was asked about that poll on thursday. "well, you know, its one poll. so, when we've had several of them then i might get a little opposed to how it's being reinterpreted." dr. carson will be in eastern iowa tomorrow, with book signings in waterloo and dubuque. kwwl asked his campaign for a sit down one-on-one interview about

ever-growing way trend has now expanded to our furry friends... mark barger explains... the creators of fitbit knew their product was popular.... the ceo just didn't realize how much. "what are all these profiles of people who are like 2 feet tall and weigh 20 pounds?" turns out thousands of people put them on their pets. "we had one client that had a fitbit on their dog..." not a bad notion, considering more than half of all dogs and cats are overweight...potentiall y leading to other problems. "hyperactivity, destructive behaviors, a lot of nusience behaviors" but a human fitness tracker may not give accurate readings on a pet. trackers like "fitbark" are made with four legs in mind. still, that's bad. that's a top of the chart hurricane. right now, police are walking up and down the waterfront in puerto vallarta -- telling people to leave. we heard from one midwestern travel agency today -- that said it's keeping a very close eye on how patricia is affecting resort areas -- and if necessarly, will let people know if their trips can be taken as scheduled. new at noon: police identify the young man killed on a college campus late last night. the shooting happened at tennessee state university in nashville. two other people are in the hospital. police say they're both students. they say the man shot to death was not a student there. he was a 19-year- old from memphis. the suspect is still on the run right now. this shooting happens about a week after three other people were wounded at an off- campus party near the college. the school is closed today -- but police are calling the shooting an

9-0-5. deputies say three people were inside the car at the time in polk county. deputies say one person in the car shot at another driver on a just north of des moines following an argument at a hotel. the driver of the other car crashed into a fence but is ok. earlier this week a four-year-old died after being shot in a case of road rage in new mexico. when he was cut off, he gestured, and then the car pulled up next to him and someone started shooting. the head. "i don't ever want anyone to go through this. it's not fair. it's not fair that people don't know how to handle their own emotions. they don't know how to handle themselves." the driver of the other car now

buildings are dealing with flooding right now after a water it started this morning after the main broke alongside a construction site... there are electrical problems. there are also transit issues. police are trying to handle both -- as the water floods several blocks... three men are arrested -- accused of beating a restaurant owner. it happened earlier this week at a restaurant in prairie due wisconsin. the restaurant owner had to be taken to the hospital with severe head trauma. the crawford county sheriff's office has not said -- if investigators know a motive for the attack. the three men are being held in the crawford county jail. a colorful imagination - and stroke of determination can go a long way. nicole vowell has the story on a young girl trying to earn her

drizzle, balsamic reduction and toasted almonds, making this recipe one to remember. serves: 8-10 people ingredients: 1 large butternut squash 1 cup of toasted "sliced" almonds 1 cup of feta cheese

syrup .5 oz. of balsamic reduction .5 cup of extra virgin olive oil salt & pepper to taste directions for preparation: take your butternut squash and cut the top and bottom off. take the a peeler and peel the squash until it's a bright orange color. remove the seeds with a big spoon or a melon baller. now, carefully slice up the butternut squash in to 1" pieces. place squash pieces in to a bowl and pour olive oil with salt and pepper all over and rub in to squash. preheat
