weather next week with the track through the area earlier this afternoon. that area of rain dropped a tenth to quarter of an inch of rain. right now we have a few scattered showers, otherwise we have areas of fog and drizzle. we aren't done with the rain chances just yet. a cold front is about to enter western iowa, and that gives us another shot at rain later tonight, maybe even a rumble of thunder. here's a look at the storm track 7 live weather showing that chance for patchy areas of drizzle and showers

back on top in iowa -- among likely democratic caucus goers. that's according to a new quinnipiac university poll released this morning... the survey show clinton now leads sanders by 11 points. the last quinnipiac poll in september had sanders one point ahead of clinton in iowa. g-o-p presidential candidate ben carson pushes past donald trump in a second iowa poll. kwwl's macleod hageman joins us live in the newsroom with reaction. mac -- what is ben carson saying about the new lead? amanda -- ben carson says he's gratified by the support his campaign is seeing. doctor carson briefly spoke during a packed book signing near kansas city. carson is now leading the republican presidential field in two iowa polls. the recent des moines register bloomberg poll out today has carson leading donald trump by 9 points -- 28 to 19 percent. well you know i feel the same paying attention to what i'm saying because none of the things. they are very logical things and if people really sat down and thought about them,

businessman wayne nathem and why he wants to be the next mayor. after serving our country in vietnam, wayne nathem moved to waterloo. he's been here ever since working different jobs, before owning his own trucking business. he says he's owned nathem enterprises/cbc freight going on years. "nathem says the years as a small business owner, the ups and downs of owning a business, will only be a benefit if elected mayor of the city of waterloo.' "by smart spending and setting up smart budgets, things of that nature we were able to survive." nathem says if elected mayor, he'd take on the city's budget.

agent organe from vietnam. so this project has been a great chance for her to honor him alongside every other veteran. the project based on this photo of wayne burk and the first chopper he flew in vietnam. he was shot down in that one, but his second one is now permanentley on display in dubuque. luedtke spent a total of 18 hours working on this paint job. she says it was a great way to remember her dad. painter) "i felt so connected to him it's not even funny. lots of tears while trying to paint at the same time and making sure that you can make it as accurate as possible because it means something to that pilot that you get this the way they saw it and done it to begin with." luedtke used oil paint for the project, which she says will last for 15 to 20 yes. the pilot of this chopper, burk, was actually shot down a total of four

he'll be in dubuque to speak at the veteran's day celebration next month. we've got you covered live here in dubuque, brad hanson...kwwl news. the co-pilot and one other servicemember will also be in attendance on veteran's day. police are looking into a burglary at a home that caught fire just days ago. the house is on linden avenue and it's where 64-year- old rebecca lavenz died in a fire. police say on thursday, a relative discovered the home was burglarized overnight. according to waterloo police, the burglary took place between 5 p-m on wednesday and 1 p-m thursday. no arrests have been made. nine employees have been fired or resigned due to an investigation into security breaches at a iowa prison. four former tower guards at anamosa state penitentiary were charged for allegedly smuggling cell phones and drugs into the prison. since the charges were

announced, the other five guards have departed. those five aren't charged with criminal activity but serious violations were found. three men accused of attacking a wisconsin restaurant owner, were allegedly out drinking with the victim earlier in the evening before the alleged attack -- this according to our coverage partners at t-h media... these three men, in prairie du chien working on the railroad, are charged with battery and burglary... they're accused of severely beating the restaurant owner, young su kim, and stealing money from his restaurant. kim suffered severe brain and head trauma from the attack... cedar rapids police are investigating a report of shots fired near the kirkwood community college campus. police were called to the college park apartments at around 10:30 a.m. police say nothing was hit and no one was injured. neighborhoods -- hit by vandals... all went down in the northwest part of cedar rapids. kwwl's hillary maglin was in that neighborhood today. hillary - what did you find out?

a rumble of thunder or two. tomorrow, we'll see decreasing clouds and windy conditions. mostly sunny and pleasant as we head into the day on sunday. here's the storm track 7 live doppler radar. it's showing the bulk of the rain is off to our east, but there is a little more activity off to the west. this is along a cold front that will track through tonight. there are a few thunderstorms along this front. as this tracks eastward, it will lose some of the energy with it, so i am not expecting widespread

legendary wrestler and coach dan gable joined recent ncaa champion kyven gadson for an autograph session at the dan gable wrestling museum. both won state wrestling titles for waterloo high schools--gable at west and gadson at east before winning national titles at iowa state. gadson is currently training for a spot of the 2016 u-s janeiro.... both gable and gadson talked about his chances. when we were talking before something i want to focus on is you have to be steady in your thinking--this is a higer level this is the olympic level its is bigger than that national championship in college--his mentality has to rise a little bit now. kyven gadson will be competing in an event in new york city later this

the ufc has reinstated former light heavyweight champion jon jones after his legal troubles were resolved. the mixed martial arts promotion lifted jones' indefinite suspension today after its lawyers reviewed his plea agreement stemming from a hit-and-run crash in albuquerque in april. the ufc hasn't decided on a date or opponent for jones' return. jones defended his u-f-c title 8 times before the incident.
