waiting on an autopsy report of the woman's body. they do believe this was a murder, as for whether it was related to the two truck's that were taken? authorities have not told us that. it all started around 4 o clock in the morning "i was lightly sleeping and i outside... "the truck had stalled out in front of the truck and i confronted him." that's when he says the truck started up and flew down the road.. " it was found later crashed into a tree... a neighbor with surveillence cameras at his home had this video of the police arrested david miller and charged him with taking the truck after they found him walking down the street and bleeding from the head. "neighbors tell us they didn't really know miller because he had recently moved to this but this home they tell us he lived in, is where they say they also found the body of a woman...

authorites now rule a hotel fire as arson. fire crews responding to the fire at the ramada waterloo hotel and convention center. firefighters say it started in the maid's closet on the fourth floor. the fire did not spread to any nearby rooms -- but there is smoke and water damage. there are no reports of any injuries. a house explodes in one eastern iowa town...destroying everything inside of it here's a look at the home, its covered in smoke it happened in janseville around one fifteen this afternoon in the 500 block of maple street kwwls olivia mancino was on the scene for us, she joins us now live in the newsroom its a miracle no one was hurt.. rescue crew told me the homeowner got out of the home just in time..

he walked out seconds before it exploded you can see the fire crews still working to put out the smoke, fire crews say there was a small fire somewhere in the home but it was put out quickly i spoke to one firefighter who happened to be off duty at the time he lives nearby and watched the explosion from his yard. "i'm glad nobody was hurt, and wwmay have lost a house out of the deal, but everything can be replaced, just glad that everybody is ok" eibey says the homeowner was pretty shaken up when he talked to him, he was just steps away from the home when it exploded no one else was inside when the house exploded, and officials are still looking into what caused the explosion we've got you covered live i nthe newsroom olivia mancino kwwl news new at six -- police arrest an armed robbery suspect inside a barber shop. cedar rapids officers arresting 21-year-old travonte hughes after he was identified inside style city. police say he jumped out of a

chair and ran to a nearby business -- before pointing a gun at officers.. they were later able to get him to the floor and take him into custody. hughes is facing weapons and assault charges. one person is injured after a semi rolls over on the highway. authorities say 54-year-old dale schindler lost control and crossed the median on highway 20 in delaware county. the truck rolled on its side and crashed into a ditch. schindler was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. continuing coverage -- police are looking for a driver who hit a 13-year-old girl and then took off. it all happened around one sunday morning at the intersection of broadway street and riehl street in waterloo. the teenager -- lyisha dixon is back at home in waterloo tonight. she was taken to iowa city with injuries to her face. kwwl's jessica hartman speaking with lyisha's mother today - - first thing some people wanted to know -- why was a 13 year old out so late.

lyisha's mother sonya gamblin says her daughter made a stupid decision to sneak out of the house. a descision she will be paying for the rest of her life. lyisha and her cousin were headed to the nearby kwick star when - according to the cousin - - a driver sped up and hit lyisha and then sped away. gamblin is still shocked that someone would hit her daughter and keep driving - - but she says she is thankful her daughter's injures aren't worse. soyna gamblin "that was the worst day ever, ever. you know why? cause i got to bring my daughter home from the hospital still alive. i am still able to talk to her." police are working to identify the driver of the car from nearby surveillance video. at this point, all we know is the driver has a dark four-door car with possible damage to the right front end. if you know anything about this, call waterloo police.

waterloo ...jessica hartman kwwl news. lyisha has a broken nose, missing teeth, and other broken bones in her face. police are searching for a missing teen. moe sed was last seen thursday afternoon at his home. he is a refugee from burma. his family is worried because they say he needs his medicine. kwwl's nikki newbrough joins us live. nikki you spoke to moe sed's family. moe sed has special needs and needs his medicine. they don't know why he left or where he's at, but they're hoping he will return home shortly. it was a typical thursday for moe sed. house that day it didn't seem to be out of the ordinary. (standup) "his parents say it's not unusual for his to take off when his parents got worried" moe sed's father called all his friends and even looked for him at his favorite places. he eventually called police friday morning. "right now i'm just thinking that because he's been gone for

believe that he's dead, but everything is in god's hands." they say he speaks accented english... he's very quiet and shy. he's also never ran away or went missing before. "please help us find him. we are really worried about him as his parents. we haven't seen him for days and we really want to see his face." this family...waiting and begging for anyone to help them find their son. "because we cannot do it alone because we do not speak english very well so we need help. we need your help to find him."

about 50 with a gusty northwest wind. not the nicest of days ahead to be outside. more and more counterfeit money is popping up in stores in our area... kw-wl's shirley descorbeth spoke to business owners who were scammed. she joins us live in dubuque with more. shirley? the reports involve fake money ranging from ten...to 100- dollar bills...and authorities tell me it's happening more and more. i talked to business owners who had people use counterfiet bills in their stores -- and they both

tell me -- they were acted very suspiciously. a slew of counterfeit bills is making its way into funny, no offense, but i'll have to take my pen out." it was about two weeks ago -- sheila blatz says a woman came into this key west true value -- and "she just kind of kept no eye contact, and said...all i have is four ones and a hundred police say they are seeing more and more fake money. "towards the end of september we started seeing an increase in counterfeit currency circulating in the community, umm and since the end of september we've seen over twenty cases of it." two fake one hundred dollar bills were also recently used here at rhomberg's fur. just like in the true values incident, the owner says...the person with the fake money, was acting suspicious. "but this isn't only happening here in dubuque. counterfeit bills are also popping up in other tri-state communities." platteville police say they've had about three instances in the past two weeks...these are surveillance images from one of those cases. blatz
