welcome to the k-w-w-l news at five. i'm macleod hageman. tomorrow will be university of iowa president bruce harreld's first day on the job. after he was hired two months ago -- faculty members expressed concern he wasn't qualified for the position.. kwwl's kristin rogers talks with students about what they think about the new hire. kristin -- we know sevval prpressors are upset -- but what about mac, you know it's interesting we have been following all of the controversy over this hire from theebeginning, but when i talked to students today, quite frankly, they said they didn't know what was going on. but a new group was formed as a responce to the hire of bruce harreld as the university of iowa president, this is a protest at a recent board of regents meetiing. the group, iowans defending our universities claims it was a flawed search process to hied harreld, and that he is not qualified for the job in the first place...

missing teenager. moe sed was last seen at his waterloo home a week ago -- on thursday. the waterloo west high school student is a refugee from burma. his family says they are worried -- because moe has special needs and needs his medicine. on friday -- his family, classmates, police, and community members came together to search for him. they were talking to people, business owners, and handed out flyers. coming up at ten -- kwwl's jessica hartmen will bring you more about the prayer serviceetonight. one man is in the hospital following a rollover accident. it was reported on dunkerton road near schenk in waterloo. 40-year-old stephen hanan was travvling east whhn he crossed the centerline. authorities believe he went into the ditch -- hit a box culvert -- and rolled several times. he was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. decision 20-16 coverage now --

the e irector, severine von tscharner fleming says there's a need for the next and based on the statistics that we have about seventy percent of those farms are gonna "in fact...the average age of a farmer today in america is fifty-seven yeaas old. rachel boeke and her husband are exploring the idea of becoming farmers...and the challenges. "we want to basically sustain ourselves on a farm and we're not sure what's that gonna look like yet...we dont have land, we're hoping to get land somewhere in iowa." but fleming says those challenges will be rewarding. "the farm land that feeds uu is crucial to our survival as a species and agriculture is the foundation of our civilazation." some of the challenges young farmers might face are land
