faculty leaders questioned harreld's resume and criticized him for a "failure of professional ethics". fast forward into october where this was the scene during a regents meeting. protesters interrupted the meeting - demanding the resignation of not only harreld, but every member of the board as well. and to make matters worse,a member of the board said the regents may have "dropped the ball" when it came to the search for the new president. we have kwwl's kristin rogers and nikki newbrough joining us live for team seven coverage - and kristin lets start with you. you spoke with bruce harreld this morning, what did he say? ron he said criticism comes with the territory being new and despite large groups asking him to resign, he is here to stay... in fact he said it's time all the critisizers move on. he told me he wants people to

new university of iowa president was flawed. and although it's bruce herrald's first day....they hope he will resign. hundreds of people gathering on bruce hrald first to be president of this great university." they were shouting "resign" or "illegitimate search, illegitimate president." but what started outside quickly moved inside to the door of burce herrald's office. "hey hey ho ho bruce herrald has got to go." these protesters say the search for president herrald was flawed, underhanded and illegal. they say the regents didn't listen to the students and staff. one of the organizers, associate professor john logsdon says if herrald knew about this flawed search, shame on him. "or if he wasn't he shouldn't want to work with these people that have malipulated the facts and the truth with the so called open search." they say the search for the university of iowa new president should have been made public. in iowa city for his injuries. his family tells us members of the community have stepped in to a woman is arrested and charged with child endangerment. the fayette county sheriff's office received a call sunday of in arlington. once there, deputies arrested 29-year-old holley marie robbins. she is charged with child endangerment causing injury, serious assault, and public intoxication. more than 200 students skipped school today in monticello because of some kind of a gun threat. school officals say they're taking the threat seriously. kw-wl's shirley descorbeth is live on the scene and has been following this late breaking story for us. shirley...tell us what you know so far. early this morning, monticello police received an anonymous text message shortly after the start of school saying a student would bring a gun to monticello high school.

police said they couldn't get any more information, because the person ended the text message. it's not the typical day at monticello high school.. received a call from one of our there was a possibility someone might be bringing a weapon, a gun to school today." the monticello police department says it received a text from the tipster shortly before school started. they couldn't get more details because the person left the conversation. "given the current state of affairs nation wide, we chose to take it seriously and as soon as we were able to, we informed anticipate danger to any of the students, but they did take the threat seriously. there was a higher police presence at the school. "it's about 3:15 and school is letting out right now of students walking out of the building."
