she's live in cedar rapids - hillary? several witnesses were called to the stand and all told a very disturbiing story of what happened in april. five different witnesses... fourr women and one man... recounted at they saw and heard in the marion hy-vee parking lot months ago. three out of the five are hy-vee employees who rushed to the parking lot after the store issued a code blue... which is hy-vee's code for a medical emergency. most the witnesses only saw the aftermath of the deadly stabbing. "there was a man crouched down on the ground over a woman. like, telling him no, , stop." several witnesses said they tried to

choosing a new mayor. and waterloo is where we start our coverage... these five candidates are on the baalot to try and take the spot occupied by current mayor buck clark who is not seeking re-election kwwl's nikki newbrough is very familiar with this race... nikki, you've interviewed all of these candidates one-on-one... and i heard five different reasons why these people wanted to be mayor of wwerloo. all from safer streets to tackeling the budget. quentin hart says he wants safer streets, and that includes building that trust between law enforcement and the community. tim hurlee agrees with stopping the violence. he suggests working with business leaders, and others who want o help. frank magsamen says if elected he's like to move towards a different form of government. that's where

the mayor becomes a part time position and becomes a voting member of the city council. as for leah morrison, a 19 year tax accountant, she says one of the biggest challenges she will attack as mayor, the city's tax levee rate. while, long time businessman wayne nathem says if elected mmor, he'd take on the city's budget. hawk county elections office checks in at 10, 2, and 6:00. at 2:00 in waterloo they were at ten percent. we've got you covered, live in waterloo -- nikki newbrouuh, kwwl news... the waterloo mayoral race could come down to a run off. a candidate must receive a simple majority. if no candidate receives a majority, a runoff between the top two vote- getters will be held december first. another race which has a chance to come down to a run off is the mayor's race in cedar falls...

two candidates are running against incumbent mayor jon crews... jim brown and dave halterman - neither have run for mayor before. jon crews has been mayor 30 of the last 44 years. crews says, if elected, he wants to adopt a comprehensive plan for 2020 and have a common goal the future he's up against 2 conteners, jim brown. brown's backgroond is in software and he wants to improve city the 3rd candidate is dave halterman-- he has a long career citizens activist it's not justtmunicipal elections on the ballot today today... several levy votes are also happening throughout the area -- including a vote for a tax levy for cedar rapids residents o help fund the public library... the potencial library levy has been a major topic in cedar rapids for months,

as you drive through cedar rapids it's easy to find support signs for the new potencial library tax, but even though the signs have been out, the voting turn out is down so far today compared to recent years. the new cedar rapids library was built in twenty- thirteen and is asking for a twenty-seven cent library tax for the city per one thousand dollars of assessed property value. that would be $27 a year for a homeowner with a 100,000 home or a little more tha2 bucks a library was overbuilt and they would be forrhe services they so far today i'm told the voting turn out is down about of elections earlier, he said he hopes the numbers will go up as people get off work... we've got you covered live in cedar rapids, kristin rogers ...kwwl newss we will continue to have updates on the library levy vote tonight at 6,

all of-age americans... but one eastern iowawaoman is going above a ad beyond to fulfill her civic duty... margaret cundy is 104 years old and has a very important message for young voters.... with margaret at her voting precint. "do you need any assistance with voting? i don't think 104...and she's been voting since 1932... when`she was just 21 years old. "i missed last every year.... dar falls firefighters came to the home in the 500 block of west fifth street before noon... the family got out safely, but the dog had to be@rescued by firefighters... the family is thankful everyone is safe, but there's a lot of shelly keve- owner aftter seeing the damage, i cried. we got into the 2008 rebuilding all over again. a family cat is still missing, but firefighters believe the cat is safely hiding somewhere in the home. the family is staying with nearby relatives. the fate of the keystone
