candidiates...to replace retiring mayor, buck clark. here are the results for mayor of waterloo... the top voter- getter is mayor pro-tem, quentin hart, followed by former mayor, tim hurley.. those two, hart and hurley, will face off in the runoff election on december 1.. hart got 33-point 7 per cent of the vote.....hurley with 26 percent.....a clear cut winner needed to have 50- percent of the vote.....no one came cloloe to that... followed by leah morrison,,,,,and frank magsaman... let's go live right now to kwwl reporter, nikki, newbrough, outside the black hawk county courthouse, with the latest on the results for waterloo mayor. this is what we expeeted. with f fve strong candidates, a runoff election will happen in decemeber. both quentin hart and tim hurley

hart says it was exciting to see so many come out to vote. he says if he gets the mayor seat, he wants safer streets, and that includes building that trust between law enforcement and the community. as for tim hurley he says although he wanted to wrap up the election today, he wasn't surprised with the results. it he wins tte runoff election, he agrees with stopping the violence. he suggests working with teachers, faith leaders, business leaders, and others who want to help. but both seemed to be hurley says this next month will

poilice have to fire on a wanted suspect, who refuses to pull over... the wounded suspect has been identified as 24-year old brandon seeley. he was wanted on a drug-related probabtion violation out of jones county. we have home video from the chase on wellington street in waterloo. -- you'll see the suspect nearly run over a waterloo police officer. nats four s sts are fired,...the driver, now indentifed as brandon seeley, refuses to stop and just keeps on driving, despite being wounded... multiple squad cars speed after seeley. he would lead them on about a 5 5mile chase which comes to an end on south hackett road.

you another look.... if you look closely, you can see the officer runs into the street, in an effort to get brandon seeley to pull over....instead seeley keeps on going, and at least four shots are fired, and seeley is wounded. here's anototer video angle at the scene.....just a few minutes after the officer fired at the driver.... this is at the corner of west fourth and wellington streets. you can see several officers securing the scene, and placing numerous evidence markers on the ground, indicating where the shell casings ended up. the chase went for several miles -- eventually ending on south hacket road -- where police arrested brandon seelly, who ran into a garage, and that's where piolice found him. he was later taken to unity point-allen hospital for treatmenof his wounds. a woman who lives acrosssthe street from where the shooting happened says she doesn't even

i get scared police car going by i get scared..i get to praying. it's just too much too much. neighbors say they saw the suspect taken away on a stretcher and into an ambulance. police say no officers were injured in the incident... because it's an officicr involved shooting, the d-c-i haha been called into to help in the investigation. now, let's get back to some election reactions. it's been a big topic in cedar months... on the ballot todaa a new library tax. that would cost a homeowner of a 100,000 home twenty-seven bucks a year, or just over two dollars a month. but, voters overwhelmingly defeated the cedar rapids majority for passage....but 55 per cent of the voters said no to the levy. kwwl's kristin rogers has been following this vote today kristin what's the reaction

after months of effort from library supportors, the ceear rapids library levy has faiid with just under 55 percent of voters, voting no. many people thought the library was overbuilt when it was completed in 2013. however the library says it planned on using the levy for it's services, not the building itself which was buii debt ve to cut bacc on hours possibly closing one day a week, (cg: david tominsky/ co chair library levy campaign) about. theres clearly a lot of people that dont share that same excitement. dont want to move toward what like i said we'll continue to work hard, to do the right thing." the supporters of the library levy

investigators to the three men accused of beating a restaurant owner and burglarzing his store. court documents say jacob erwin, thomas wilkins and kellen jeffords, all working for railworks, beat young su kim and left him inside of his wasabi restaurant october 21st. all three men face aggravated battery and burglary charges, while kim tonight remains in the hospital. kwwl's brad hanson joins us live now from the t-h media newsroom in dubuque. and brad, the community is now working to rally around the restaurant owner people call key. they sure are--a lot of people in the community have nothing but good things to say abbut him. and now
