for joining us. tonight- we are taking a closer look at video from an offiier- involved shooting, that we first showed you yesterday..here it is.. the suspect is driving the blue mini van, as he whips around the corner, you see an officer in the street. the officer then fires 4 shots at the van. the suspect continues to drive off...sending police on a chase for 5 miles. at last check, the driver, brandon seeley is still in the hospital. kwwl's lauren moss has been looking into the video and speaking with tonight... many people have been reaching out..asking why an officer would open fire in is case. well because it involves an officer, the iowa division of criminal investigation is now looking into this. but tonight, we have a rare nats of schreech and shots 4 shots ringing throughout this waterloo neighborhood. but this shooting, involves an unidentified waterloo officer. take a closer look. the highlighted part of your screen shows an officer in

intersection -- after a kwwl's macleod hageman joins us live e n the newsroom with the latest. mac -- have you heard? amanda/ron -- waterloo police say 33-year-old robert johnson was taken to iowa city -- after he was first taken to a nearby hospital for broken bones. his was the scene this morning -- as a 21-year-old laporte city driver collided with johnson. waterloo police tell me the driver was not at fault or ited. one woman who uses the nearby bus stop says -- it's a dangerous intersection -- and she too was most hit this rning. "i was afraid. i had to stepped back at least 20 feet away from where i was standing. so, i had to do something to protect myself." now after driving frm cedar falls to waterloo on university -- twice -- i was able to count 18 intersections with stoplights. only eleven of those had usable crosswalks -- and most of them were closer to cedar falls.

we've got you covered live in the newsroom -- macleod hageman -- kwwl news. thanks mac. this is the second pedestrian-related incident ininthat area inna week. last week there was a similar incident that killed a pedestrian. terry harp was hit by a car trying to cross university avavnue in cedar falls. sheewas 59. police say she stepped right in front of a car... she was on her way to a bus stop -- and was heading to pizza hut -- where she worked for 29 years. a former associate athletic director at the university of iowa files a discrimination lawsuit against the school... jane meyer filed a suit claiming the athletic director gary barta tried to derailler career..... meyer wawa removed from her duties in december of last year -- nearly a week later she was brought back on to a position "well beneath her experience and pay grade" according to her attorney.

in waterloo...none of the candidates recieved more than 50 percent of the vote. the most votes -- councilman quentin hart and former mayor tim hurley three people on yesterday's ballot the top two, school board member jim brown and current mayor jon crews will go head to head next month. kwwl's nikki newbrough is live in downtown waterloo. nikki these election results aren't surprising. wixh five candidates in waterloo and three in cedar falls, it would have b ben tough for somemee to get the majority. now, they're hoping we head out one more time to vote again. the dog's name is latham and he went missing on sunday near parkersburg. latham is part of retrievjng freedom and will eventually become a servve dog for a veteran or a child with autism. if you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts call 319-290-0350. an ioww judge dismissed a lawsuit against governor terry branstad. the lawsuit challenged branstad's decision to close two state mental health centers this year. the suit was filed by the head of iowa's largest employees union and 20 democratic lawmakers. they claimed that closing the centers clarinda and mount pleasant was illegal. two people are dead after the stolen car they were in crashed. sioux city police say the car struck seseeral vehicles before runniig

into a tree and then overturning onto its top tuesday afternoon. 34-year-old jonas rouillard and 28- year-old autumn flowers were taken to the hospital but died from their injuries. "we did have witnesses who saw the vehicle travel up over the hill, went as far to say hill," "it was traveling that fast." siouucity fire rescue and sioux city police used the jaws of life to remove at least one of the accident victims from the vehicle, that was reported stolen five days ago. paramedics rushed them to mercy medical center, but they didn't survive. a man leads police on a chase with a loaded handgun in his pickup. winneshiek county sheriff's office respooded to a disturbance at a home ii spillville. multiple people were inside, including a child. authorities say jeffery kuennen led police on a chase while armed with a handgun.

be moved in the city in the next month for the interseccon project. th homes were originally set for demolition, until they were purchased from the city. the homes are in good shape, we got a look inside the one still on it's lot.
