gusting to 25. that will keep us cool. i have my doubts the clouds in the north will clear out, so we will call it partly sunny today with more sun in the south. highs will be in the low to mid 50s and may occur this morning. we won't see the 70s again anytime soon... i'll have that cooler forecast for you in a few minutes. we are following breaking news this morning: we have confirmed there is a fire at the amana colonies golf course. authorities tell kwwl the fire is in the clubhouse. multiple fire departments have been called out. amana colonies golfing is well known -- throughout the midwest. on its website -- the golf club says it's had thhtitle of top pupulic golf course in iowa numerous times. we'll stay on top of the decision 20-16 coverage this morning:

debates is shrinking... at least for one night. two presidential hopefuls have been bumped from next week's prime time debate. reid binion has the sory. a g-o-p debate shakeup... after a week of shifting ground christie and huckabee are down...both relegated to the under-card debate hosted by fox business next week and lindsey graham and george pataki are out... ...out of the debate. entirely after theipoll numbers fell short of the required minimum for the top two contenders - tensions are on the rise.trump releasing a new political ad today. kyrian knox was reported missing in september. his mother said the boy was staying with a family friend in rockford as she moved from cedar rapids to chicago. this week, we learned police were able to confirm his body was found in a pond in n icago. "i am angry and betrayed. i feel like what happened to this baby shouldn't have happened. i feel like who's care he was in were deceased when they cut my grand baby up but there is a crime scene somewhere." the man the boy was left with is now in jail for burglary. he says someone he didn't know came to the home to pick up the boy. he also says he spoke to kyrian mother before sending him with the people who showed up at this is another story that's hard to wrap your head around. a nine-year-old boy gunned down on his way to his grandma's house. it happened on monday in chicago. the fourth grader was shot in an alley. police say it's possible the ild was targeeed -- because his fatherer

was allegedly involvemed with two recent gang- related killings. "i feel sad because it's a cruel community out here and i just world." witnesses say they saw several people running from the scene after the murder. new this morning: the wife and son of an officer who killed himself are now being investigaad over text m mssages. the officer allegedly sent one message to his wife saying -- we may need to hide the money. joe gliniewicz is the illinois officer who tried to make it look like he was a hero dying in the ine of duty -- when he took his own life. investigators now say he also tried to find a hit man to kill the village administrator -- who he feared would find out he had been embezzling from the department's youth program. "it's a very scary thought that an officer who is sworn to uphold the law would even attempt to think to do something like that to an administrator." his personnel file says this

first time his behavior was questioned. in 1988 -- he was found passed out in his truck on the highway -- with the engine running and his foot said -- this was not the first time something like this has happened. a driver is ticketed after a minivan hits a fire truck. cedar falls police say the driver of that miniman pulled out from a stop sign on west second sttet and hit thh firetruck that was on its way to a medical emergency... the minivan had to be towed from the scene -- the firetruck had about four thousand dollars in damage to the front end. the driver of the minivn was cited for failing to yield. at leest one person is dead and many others are missing after a dam burst at a mining operation in brazil. many homes have now been flooded. cars and trucks are now buried in mud. rescue teams are now searching for survivors. we've now heard it from the president himself - the possiblity of a tracie potts has the latest n the investigation.

this morning thousands of british passengers are still stranded in sharm el sheikh, the egyptian airport where russia's metrojet took off before ii crashed. now president obama says: "i think there is a possibility that there was a omb on-board." so far that's based on intntlligence, not hard evidence. proof will come from examining the debris - the plane's black boxes - and questioning everyone who had access to that flight. " you have to look at the catering, you have to look at the servicing, you have load the baggage b/c all of those folks have access to parts a great deal of sophistication -- it just requires having one person in the right place." the u-s hasn't ruled out mechanical failure, but is considering stepped up security for international flights landing here. isis has claimed responsibility. cision 2015 ccerage: the campaign for a runoff election is short-lived. the mayor of cedar falls drops out. jon crews says he's retiring. this week, he came in second behind im brown in t te race for mayor -- which forced a runoff between the two in december. even though crews is pulling out of the race -- by law, the his name will be on the ballot. meantime -- a runoff is also on the llot in waterloo in december. councilman quentin hart and former mayor tim hurley are going head to head to see who will be the not all mayoral elections are being solved by a runoff. the supervisor of elections in a small florida communnty decided toto break a tie between two candiates using a deck of cards. and with the luck of the draw -- one candidate pulled out an ace. the supervisor says it just seemed like the best way to settle it. an iowa town has a new mayor-elect -- even though she was not on the ballot. recently, we told you about the problem in this muscatine county town. there were no names on the ballot
