the world is mourning this weekend following a wave of attacks, attacks that claimed the lives of129 people on friday... here's the very latest from paris, this morning. candles and hugs early this morning in the heart of paris. parisians came to place massacres that rocked the french restaurants where dozens died at the hands of men armed with explosive belts and automatic weapons. the day after the coordinated attacks, a picture emerges of the terror spree that lasted less than 30 minutes. one survivor told nbc news she thought she would die: "and all of a sudden there were huge gun shots that sounded like fireworks... just like bang, bang, bang, bang through the window." at the concert hall where 89 were killed, this man played dead, then ran for his life. "they were not stopping... they were reloading the guns and they very heavily armed." isis now says it carried said the 30-year-old french

rochester man and his girlfriend say they are safe in france this morning.. the man says he was at this restaurant- just about a mile place. he said a waiter stood up on a chair -- hushed everyone in the restaurant -- and told them there had been a shooting nearby. he says there is a stunning sense of calm and normalcy in the city since the attacks.. its been absolutey amamzing from people all around the world it was flipping amazing to see the amount of people that care. he says one of his biggest takeaways from this trip is the outpouring of support he's gotten from people all over the world -- checking in to see if he's okay.. decision 20-16 coverage this morning... democratic presidential hopefuls discuss the paris attacks during their second debate -- right here in iowa. kim hutcherson reports from des moines...

cedar falls tonight for a town hall on the u-n-i campus... new and developing this morning a report says.. the plan to privatize iowa's medicaid services by january includes a scheme that will cut reimbursements for some organizations relying on the funding... the cuts will mostly affect organizations that help people with physical, mental or developmental disabilities... and it could force smaller providers to suspend its services... now, the department of human services says... they will work with providers who are facing difficulties... firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire on a farm in eastern iowa... the fire sparked yesterday afternoon -- and the homeowner tells us -- it likely started in a bedroom. he was not home when the fire started, but says it may have been electrical. good news here: no one was injured the home. a total loss. continuing coverage this morning

-- the search for a missing teen gains momentum. moe sed has been missing for more than three weeks. he is a refugee from burma and a student at waterloo west high school. kwwl's jessica hartman joins cedar valley this weekend... "there's been a few possible sightings out there the past few splitting up to continue the search. hartman "the search for system in the cedar valley area. volunteers looking for signs of moe sed or his bike with one orange and one blue tire rim." catherine wager "he really enjoyed fishing in those areas and riding his bike and being out in the woods. i think, probably, it reminded him of his home in thailand." catherine and liz wagner - - two of his teachers who have help spear head the last seen with is a bike. i just feel like we are looking for a needle in a hay stack and how do you ever search?" catherine "there is just a tone of area." they were just one of more than 10 search parties we weren't the only ones out there. knowing that we could cover a lot more ground." the search did not turn

air balloon on an interstate median.... but that's exactly what some drivers saw this week in florida... this hot air balloon was forced to land because of heavy fog and a low fuel level.... no one was injured in the emergency landing and traffic was not affected...but definitely a strange sight to see. across the country... a scary moment on a california freeway is caught on camera as a car flees from police... driving the wrong way through traffic. in the video you can see the car dangerously whizzing past other

raised the french flag outside of city halls. the united states military academy football team also showed its support for the victims of the attacks in france... the army knights players ran out of the tunnel carrying the french flag beside the u-s flag during their home game yesterday... and take a look at this touching scene- in los angeles, people laid flowers and lit candles in a large and moving visual display... across the country in new york... dozens gathered to show their support for france... an emotional prayer service was held last night... people gathered to light candles and express their solidarity for paris... some people left flowers and others signed posters with supportive messages... the freedom tower has also been lit to embody france's flag the past two nights... also in new york- the metro opera sang the french national anthem.... the tribute took place before a scheduled performance... as you might be able to hear in the video -- the opera chorus sang

the anthem in french... beautiful tributes throughtout the country. a man who lived through the attack in paris... said his cell phone saved his life. the man says he had just hung up the phone when he heard an explosion while walking by the stadium friday night... he said quote " i was crossing the street and straight away, boom, it exploded right in front of me. everything was blown to bits and i felt stuff flying around and i left, i fell and then i got back up. so this is the cell phone that took the hit, it's what saved me"... his samsung smart phone was bent out of shape -- the screen shattered and a hole drilled straight through... elsewhere... president obama has arrived in turkey for a meeting with world leaders. air force one touched down at the airport in southern turkey early this morning.... security is expected to be extremely tight as the leaders gather for the next two days of talks... some intense video to show you this morning involving an implosion... underwater!

week... reality t-v star -- caitlyn jenner makes a bit of a surprise visit to dubuque this weekend -- just days after al roker passed through- now, jenner was in the river town to raise awareness for the transgender community... but not all transgender people support her. kw-wl's shirley descorbeth explains.. it's a night of celebration...with a surprise special appearance in dubuque by reality tv star caitlyn jenner. "the people we have here our supporters." known to many as an olympic champ...jenner rolled into town with her entourage of friends and film crew. it's for "an evening with the stars,"...to raise awareness about the trans community in dubuque. across, to people who aren't us." "but not everyone in the transgender community believes caitlyn jenner represents them. she was recently confronted by protestors in chicago." (nat sound)

advocates say jenner is a good role model for them. "you know there's gonna be people in all walks of life...probably the most discriminated against are black women of color who are transgender, but just because of like this...will help bring acceptance to the trans community. we've got you covered in dubuque...shirley descorbeth, kwwl news. and jenner's t-v crew filmed during her visit in dubuque. so that means -- her time in eastern iowa could air on reality television... some brave people taking the plunge into the cold mississippi river for a good cause.... local organizations -- from schools, businesses and law enforcement --took part in the annual polar plunge in dubuque.

size. so a serving of almonds, you'll see anywhere from 22 to 28 almonds... i usually say 25 to make it easy which is about two tablespoons. but i will one of my favorite things about going to show you how to make those today but the key thing here is that you do make them in the wash on them. so take an egg white, beat it up until its frothy,

that way, your sugar will really something you like. i used plain sugar, which means i would really have to count out my portion size! but you can use any kind of sugar substitutes if that's what you use in your house anyways to keep the mix of almonds, walnuts and pecans. now it is really important to get the whole, natual nuts -- not the roasted kind. because we are basically going to roast them ourselves so we don't want the ones with salt added either. so that's the mix i am using, you can use just one, all three, just two... you can really use any mix that you want. so what you're going to do... i have already toasted them in a castiron skillet. i like using a castiron skillet, i
