good evening everyone, i'm amanda goodman. and i'm ron steele. thanks for joining us. body cameras in police departments have been in the news a lot lately -- and now firefighters are following the lead..using fire and water resistance helmet cameras. and soon one eastern iowa fire department will be using them. kwwl's lauren moss saw the cedar falls fire department's new purchase.. she joins us now live amanda, they are pretty amazing. these helmet cameras are like an instant replay for firefighters- helping to bring out memories of a scene..to better investigate and analyze fires..and the cedar falls fire chief is calling it...ground breaking technology. investigating fires will never be the same..all thanks to helmet cameras. take a look at one in action in ohio...firefighters suspect this fire is arson and they are using the video to help look for patterns... the cedar falls fire department just bout 3 helmet cameras. its basically being able to bring the memory out of the fire and bring it back to the fire house. he's calling this a game changer... you know we are going to be able to tell a lot about how a

flame the color of the smoke where the fire is in the house... and these cameras are designed to handle intense fires.. this is one of the only cameras that actually will sustain heats up to 900 degree f which is incredibly hot something that we don't even want to be in but they've gone over that threshold just to make sure that they are safe and protetced and advantages of these cameras and capturing beyond helping firefighters. we are going to focus on using this to better the firefighters ability to fight fires also tto provide a safer environment for future environment also a safer enviroment for citizens of cf.

syrians abuissa tells me he thinks this sudden opposition to refugees stems from fear in america... i'm working on that story for 10. we've got you covered live in iowa city... hillary maglin ...kwwl news. governor branstad announced yesterday iowa would be one of the 27 states shutting out syrian refugees. some colleges across the country are reconsidering how they run their study abroad programs. this comes after the paris attacks...one of the victims was a foreign exchange student from california. kwwl's shirley descorbeth reached out to local universities in dubuque to find out what changes they'll make...if any. she joins us live now in dubuque. after the attacks...some colleges across the country have cancelled planned study abroad trips to paris.

have students in paris at the moment...but that's not stopping them from reevaluating their programs. traveling the world....and studying abroad is making changes to thier programs. "we've already been groups." here at the university of dubuque...the study abroad program doesn't currently have students in paris...but did for a short-time while over the summer. "we regularly have our short term faculty led groups travel to paris every couple of years or so." and as of right "and although parents may sometimes worry about their son or daugter studying abroad...those who run the program say traveling is so now...they don't plan to cancel future trips to paris. from another man and stabbed him three people knew each other. kelly was arrested for 1st degree robbery. a gas station was closed down after a vehicle drove into it. it happened monday at the road ranger gas station near fifteenth street and first avenue in cedar rapids. employees say a range rover drove through the front - nearly hitting a man inside. no one was injured. the university of northern iowa implementing a new program this fall to combate suicide. just this semester two students died in the dorms on campus. kwwl's nikki newbrough is live in the newsroom. nikki what is this new program called? it's called "one is too many." today president william ruud touched on it and spoke with us college officials recognize students have a lot of stress. the program "one is too many" was
