getting fired as the head coach of the cyclones... kwwl's zach grant is just back from ames - he joins us in the studio... zach? paul rhoads was informed on saturday that he would be fired at the end of the season today rhoads took for the final time as iowa state head coach. the final straw may have been saturdays loss to kansas state... the cylcones dominated most of the game and lead 35-17 at halftime but could close it out and wond up losing 38- 35. rhoads who expierneced early suceess with the cyclones taking them to three bowl games in his first four years but latelly his teams have struggled getting into the win column with three wins being the high mark the last three for his players "most of all i want to thank your players past and present who have given there all for the have made a huge impact on vicki and i." rhoads went 32-54 in seven

yesterday on a special edition of the steele report - we hosted a debate with former mayor tim hurley and mayor pro tem quentin hart -- the two candidates vying to take over the office currently held by buck clark. kwwl's nikki newbrough is live in downtown waterloo. nikki you met with current mayor buck clark...who decided not to run for re- election. he never intended to run for a fourth term. he says he isn't sure what he will be doing, but says he will stay busy. spending almost six years in this office...there have been ups and downs. clark says under his leadership, he's proud new housing starts have gotten better. he says under his leadership he believes the image of the city has gotten better. but clark wishes he could have had

about how the nfl deals with concussions after a player continues to play after suffering a head injury... saint louis ram's quarterback case keenum left the game is tackled to the ground late in last night's game - and he hits his head, hard. he struggled to stand up -- wobbling back and forth before getting to his feet... what's controversial is that at no point in the game anybody tried to get keenum removed from the game. experts say if they're even a "it's always better to air on the side of safety to take a player out of the game if you think confirmed keenum suffered a concussion and said they are reviewing the incident. police make an arrest in the death of a pregnant woman killed in a home invasion more than a week ago...

indianapolis police arrest 18- year-old larry taylor for the murder of amanda blackburn. tyalor was one of four men questioned in her death. the pastor's wife was found dead in early november by her husband when he got home from the gym. a deer hunter dies after falling out of his tree stand. emergency responders had to use four wheelers to respond to a call that a bow hunter fell 15-feet out of a tree stand in crawford county wisconsin. according to the crawford county sheriff's office - 51-year-old dennis keifer from oconomowac was taken to the hospital, where he died. hundreds fo thousands of ford vehicles are getting recalled because of the potential for the gas tank to leak. 452 thousand midsized certain ford fusion and mercury milan sedans from model years 2010 and 2011 are getting recalled because the fuel tank can crack and leak. fo far there are no reports of fires
