waiting to get in once the doors opened last night... but so far -- no reports of any serious problems there. there was a serious problem outside a mall in another state connection to holiday shopping. one person was shot outside a mall in louisiana... the victim is expected to survive. no one's been arrested yet. "we have descriptions of it appears that this altercation had absolutely nothing to do with the shopping going on, or the mall operations." both the victim and the suspect took off after the shooting. police say they later learned that the victim was in the hospital. some iowa shoppers might be wishing they waited until this morning to search for deals. dozens of shoppers in west des moines were forced out of a supertarget store last night when the fire alarms went off. in this video -- you can see the heavy smoke coming from the with fire extinguishers"

firefighters quickly evacuated the building and put out the fire... no one was hurt. investigators say the kitchen was closed at the time. they don't know what started the fire. shoppers are dealing with slick roads in parts of the midwest this morning. this is video out of sioux falls -- where enough snow fell to make the roads slippery. throw in some freezing rain -- and it's a recipe for a mess. we're helping you get ready for a busy day at the store. we've got a list of stores -- and when they'll open today -- right on fires go up on thanksgiving day because of all the cooking... cedar falls firefighters are investigating a fire. it had nothing to do with thanksgiving dinner. in fact, they're calling it arson. nicholas kollasch faces charges. he's accused of starting a fire after some kind of an argument.

the fire happened before 6 yesterday morning on iowa street in cedar falls. it quickly spread to a nearby garage. kwwl's jessica hartman tells us what was destroyed inside has a here you can see flames enguling the van early thanksgiving morning. despite the loss, it was a very special night in green bay. brett favre was back in town as his retired number four was revealed in lambeau's ring of honor. hall of fame quarterback bart starr and several of favre's former teammates were there for the ceremony. plenty of football on thanksgiving, but there was also holiday basketball. iowa in florida at a tournament. first up -- the hawks take on dayton. jared uthoff would lead iowa with 18 points. they would trail -- and come back to take a lead late -- but dayton would finish the game on an 11-2 run to knock off the hawks 82-77. it's iowa's first loss of the year. they'll play notre dame tonight -- right about the time -- the iowa nebraska football game should be wrapping up. some frustrated parents say they found a speicific kind of toy on the naughty list.... they've been posting comments and pictures in amazon's section upset. tiny plastic spheres hopelessly matted in children's hair. these are just some of "bunchems" with parents describing how they spent hours struggling to get these play things untangled while their

kids screamed and cried. dottie hutchens went through it a few nights ago, soon after grandson ty and granddaughter hayley started playing with the new set of bunchems she'd bought at the local target. "she said grandma can i put his toy in my hair and i can't get it out it hurts" take a close look and you'll see how it can happen. each bunchem has dozens of tiny hooks... the commercial says that makes them perfect for building soft sculptures a feature that's earned them a spot on scientific american's list of top holiday toys. "but take a look at what it does when i put a few of them in this wig. they attach almost hard i pull on the hair so you can imagine what it feels like for a child trying to have these removed." "she sat there for 2 hours while we pulled on her hair basically. she was traumatized. i know, i
