cloudy. the clouds will thicken up as we head into sunday night, with the chance for a light wintry mix tracking in late sunday night and into monday. more on that in just a few minutes. storm track seven live doppler radar shows mainly dry conditions across eastern iowa. we've been stuck under the cloud cover all day long. you can see a few returns popping up on radar. there could be a light sprinkle or flurry to the south, but there is a lot of dry air over eastern iowa, is expected. the country. that front is still causing issues for the ohio valley back to oklahoma and texas. there have been major icing problems in the oklahoma city area. our next storm system is still off the california coast. here's the storm track seven across

conditions. we had just enough breaks in the clouds for a nice sunset in some parts of the area. we will see an increase in clouds during the overnight hours. the 30s all day long, thanks to very little sunshine across the area. right now they are in the 20s. future track is showing a mostly cloudy sky later tonight, as clouds will be on the increase. that trend continues into the day on sunday. we will stay dry, aside from stray flurry to the south, but nothing too significant. as we go throughout the day on sunday we will see a mostly cloudy sky with peeks of sunshine here and there. clouds will increase sunday night, then after midnight there could be a wave of energy that produces a little wintry mix very early on monday morning, but the better chance will be throughout the day. many of us, especially the

southeastern half of the kwwl viewing area will see mostly rain, but the farther northwest you are, the better chances to see a mix, to all snow. in fact, here's a look at the storm track as it stands right now. by tomorrow evening it will be in the oklahoma and texas pan handle, and will race to the northeast and will be in western iowa and missouri by monday evening, and by tuesday morning it will be over iowa, wrapping snow around the system. the heaviest snow looks to fall to the northwest of the viewing area. in between there could be a wintry mix, with mainly rain to the southeast. this is a changing system, and we are on the line between rain and snow, so any shift in the track can make a big difference. please stay tuned to the latest forecasts. already there are winter storm watches out to our west. here's the storm track 7 forecast for tonight. we'll have a partly
