welcome to the k-w-w-l news at five. i'm macleod hageman. we have big news for the iowa state cyclones. matt campbell -- former head coach at toledo -- has been named the new iowa state football coach. campbell will replace paul rhoads -- who was fired a week ago after seven seasons leading the iowa state cyclones. we'll find out more about the new coach and what this means for the cylcone football progam later in sports. now let's check in with storm track seven meteorologist kyle kiel for your first forecast. how's the weather looking -- going into the work week kyle? from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team. see the screen for your complete weather information. here is additional forecast information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: we are tracking the threat for wintry weather across parts of eastern iowa. a winter weather advisory starts at midnight tonight and lasts until tuesday evening for black hawk, bremer, butler, chickasaw and grundy counties. this is for a mix of of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. the ice accumulations look less than a tenth of an inch,

the snow accumulations look to be a trace to two inches, with isolated higher amounts. the heaviest snow falls in northwest iowa. live radar right now shows an area of light rain, freezing rain being reported in central iowa. we have to over come a bit of dry air here in eastern iowa before we see anything. more on the timing coming 26- year-old tiffany reed of missouri finds herself behind bars for the second time in recent months. reed was arrested in connection to a theft at the waterloo dick's sporting goods store -- reported back in october. kwwl's jessica hartman joins us live in the newsroom with the latest. jessica? police say tiffany reed and two other women robbed the sporting good's store -- taking 5- grand in north face jackets before

she was arrested later that day. the arrest happened on october first during a police chase in washington county. state troopers chased reed and two other women -- that ended with one trooper shooting at the car. no one was hurt during the incident. during that arrest - - reed was connected to a september theft of the cedar falls von maur. here you can see reed and two others quickly grabbing intire racks of jeans. reed is currently being held at the black hawk county jail on two counts of second degree theft. we've got you covered -- live in the newsroom -- jessica hartman kwwl news. thanks jessica -- reed's bond is set at 80-thousand. police are investigating a shooting that killed one person and injured another in downtown des moines. it happened in the city's popular court avenue district around one o-clock this morning. police say 21-year old edmanuel perez

is dead and 23-year- old andrew hurley-boyd was taken to the hospital. police have not arrested anyone in connection to the crime. authoritiese confirm this is the 17th des moines this year. take a look at this -- a handcuffed woman managed to steal the police s- u-v she was being held -- and then she took it for a joyride. officers arrested a 27-year-old woman after they say she tried to cash a stolen check at a bank saturday. she was placed in the back of the police s-u-v -- but somehow got into the front and drove away -- causing a three-car wreck. two people were taken to the hospital with inures. many drivers are guilty of it -- letting your gas tank fill while sitting in the comfort of your but leaving the pump while getting gas -- could be disastrous. kwwl's kristin rogers catchs up with a few drivers today. kristin -- what did they have to say? mac -- we've all done it. it's cold outside and no one

wants to stand outside and pump gas. i talked to many people who said that's the reason they leave their pumps un-attended. but police say it happens all year long -- and drivers should careful. on saturday a car was left at the pump while filling with gas at this kwik shop in hiawatha, the owner the pump didn't click off and it up before anything horrible as they were filling up. (cg: doug haddy/ gas station customer) "oh yeah, oh yeah, especially if the wind is blowing yes. it's too cold yeah." cold or not it's not good to wait in the car. police say the static electricity from getting out of your car and while customers were inside the store which could cause gas to charge customers for the gas they spill, unless something

information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: welcome back i'm meteorologist kyle kiel. threat tracker has us in the yellow for both today and tomorrow. this is mainly for the threat of snow and ice. the wintry mix will turn to rain across the area as we go into the day on monday, but on the back side, there will be a transition to snow. that will continue into

a wider view of what's going on. we have moisture flowing in from the south ahead of our storm system that is in the developing stages out west in the four corners region. that will track to the north and increase the precipitation late tonight into tomorrow. temperatures of course are critical. at this hour, we are all above the freezing mark, except decorah. storm track 7 live weather network shows mainly overcast conditions across the area. here's future track as we time the storm out. there could be a few areas of light rain early this evening, but we have to overcome some dry air at first. as we head throughout the overnight, there could be a wintry mix as early as nine o'clock, as temperatures dip below freezing. as we go throughout the morning commute, we will continue to see a mix, especially to the north. it will be changing to rain for the southeast half of the area. the rain continues

throughout the day on monday, with a mix, changing to all snow as we head into the evening hours. the farther southeast you go, the likely hood it will stay all rain. as far as ice accumulation goes through tuesday morning. this will mainly be late tonight into monday. generally less than a tenth of an inch. as far as snowfall. we are looking at a trace of snow from dubuque to cedar rapids and points to the northwest. one to two inches possible in waterloo, to decorah and elkader. depending on the exact transition of rain and snow, will depend on where the isolated higher amounts will be. rainfall will generally be between a half and three quarters of an inch, with isolated higher amounts possible. some of that of course will be snow. here's the storm track 7 forecast for tonight. we will see a mixed bag of precipitation. lows will be around

the iowa state cyclones already have their new man -- the cyclones have agreed to a deal to make toledo's matt campbell the next coach of the iowa state football team -- campbell -- who's celebrating his 36th birthday today -- is currently the third youngest coach in all of ncaa-fbs football -- he went 35-15 in three years at toledo -- including a 35, 15 win over iowa state earlier this season --- in his four years he led the rockets to a pair of bowl victories and a pair of mac conference division co- championships -- the iowa state players got
