crash that happened in part because of slick road conditions. the black hawk county sheriff's office says a vehicle crossed the center line on raymond road ar dunkerton this morning crashing into another vehicle driven by darlene hammond from hudson... the driver of the other car died at the scene -- investigators say the roads were almost fullyy covered by ice at the time of the crash. the driver's name is being withheld until family can be notified. one person is injured after shots were fired in cedar rapids it happened in the 16-hundred block of b avenue northeast around 8 last night. police say a 19- year-old was shot in the in the arm-- they believe he is expected to be o-k no arrests have been made at new at noon: a prominent university of iowa building could soon have a new name. the university asking the board of regents today to rename the ui children's hospital to-- the stead family university of iowa children's hospital. it would honor top donor and businessman jerre stead, and his wife. it's not official yet -- the if approved -- the name would

in the waterloo mayoral runoff election, hart has garnered 5222 off the votes, winning the election. hart is the first minority mayor in waterloo. hart says nothing has soaked in yet, but he's very thankful for the community support.t. when hart arrived at his support party he was greeted with hugs and cheers. hart has promised to bring a fresh, new outlook to the waterloo mayor office. hart has served six years as vice mayor, and is familiar with the city operations. he says the first thing he'll do

we're debating whether we can actually use the word "snow" it certainly looks like a snowman -- but's made of tumbleweeds. this is a 20-year tradition in albuquerque. city workers collect the biggest and best tumbleweeds they can find all year long. "it's gooofor the kids, , ll the guys at work enjoy doing it." this is one of the largest snowmen in recent years, usually it's bout 12 feet...this year it's about 13 and a half. the tumbleweed snowman will be up until january 5th. people are in the holiday spirit, and just celebrated giving tuesday-- the first tuesday after thanksgiving every year.. nd the american cancer society hope lodge in iowa city is giving patients a free place to stay during their treatments. the hope lodge%provides space to cancer patients who live 40
