iowa hawkeyes will have a shot to do something no one expected at the beginning of this year -- that's go 13 and oh -- and punch their ticket in to the college the field is all set for the hawkeyes and spartans to hook up here tomorrow -- michigan state already got to walk-through on this field today -- iowa -- meanwhile -- hasn't done that the day before all year -- and ferentz says they aren't starting now -- now ferentz is well aware that his team's been disrespected this season -- but says it doesn't matter -- the hawks have already proven themselves -- "things get decided on the you're not gonna be in a game counts is what happens tomorrow night during that sixty minutes. you know, we'll live with the consequences either way, whatever takes place. of course this iowa team couldn't ask to be in a better position -- one win

the legs during a drive-by shooting. waterloo police responded to the allen street and second street intersection around noon. neighbors tell kwwl they heard gunshots and got on the floor. waterloo police say they are searcing for the person responsible. meanwhile -- a busy morning for waterloo police -- as they each other. kwwl's macleod hageman visits the area -- and brings us the latest. mac? it all started early this morning when 16-year-old marcus bell made arrangements to buy prescirption drugs -- in a car on mulberry -- from a 17-year-old girl. during the deal -- bell pointed a gun in the girl's face and refused to pay. that's when bell got out -- the girl started driving away -- and bell shot at the car twice. some time a dark scene as the waterloo police tactical team arrests marcus bell -- and 34- year-old antonio tate on an unrelated warrant -- at a linden street home. charged with robbery and intimidation -- bell was taken into custody... (nats...different scene) an hour later -- and a

"i just heard a bunch of scraming and hollering. i heard a pop and a car leave, and all of sudden cops were all around." visiting her family from tennesse -- carol billman says she's concerned for her family's daughter here," "neighbors tell me this isn't the first time they've experienced problems with this home on the gunshots, they say police had to come out and check their siding to see if there were in bullet holes in the sides of their homes." 25-year-old michael alexander and 26-year-old joseph lobato were arrested in connection to the crime. at last word -- the investigation is ongoing. we've got covered -- macleod hageman -- kwwl news. waterloo police say all people involved in both robberies were found. the cedar rapids police department is asking for help in identifying these two suspects involved in multiple thefts. the thefts happened in early november. police say the two used stolen credit cards to purchase items. if you have any information, contact the cedar rapids police department at the number on the screen. davenport police arrested a man suspected of using a mobile dating app to rob people. 20-year-old darvoughn jones faces robbery and burglary charges for incidents that took place in may. police say jones lured his

an app that people use to meet for consensual sex. jones then pulled a handgun and told the people he was robbing them. in one case, jones and another man forced the victim to drive to his parents' house, where they took a debit card belonging to the victim's father and used it to withdraw money. the muslim student association at uni asking for a permanent place of prayer on campus. its a story that has sparked a lot of controversy on our facebook page. alex dittrich says "i think they should build a prayer room to accommodate all faiths. not just to cater for one specific religion, but to all." on the other side, lorrie martin says"baloney. we as christians can pray anywhere. i will never support uni as an alumni if they do this" kwwl's jessica hartman looking deeper into this polarizing conversation. jessica, it seems to have the campus divided? it really does. speaking with students on campus - - there are

labor secretary tom perez, who became the third member of president barack obama's cabinet to endorse clinton. chris christie was also in iowa today - he spoke in des moines to the iowa association of electrical cooperatives. christie touched base on the tragedy and also that the n-s-a should resume the bulk collection of phone records. six republican candidates will be in eastern iowa this weekend. ben carson, ted cruz, carly fiorina, bobby jindal, rick santorum and rand paul will be in cedar rapids for the rising tide summit. the summit is hosted by freedom works and congressman rod blum. the summit will be saturday from coming up on kwwl, the unusual warm weather is keeping one eastern iowa ski resort closed. mostly sunny sky, but by the afternoon there will be a few more clouds tracking into the area. no rain expected from those clouds, but there could be a couple light rain showers early in the day on sunday as we have a weak disturbance tracking through, but the majority of us will stay dry all weekend. current temperatures across the area are in the 30s and 40s. it's been a very nice day for november standards. that's thanks in part to a south wind from high pressure located to our southeast. storm track 7 live weather network cameras across eastern iowa show a very calm pictures. wind hasn't been too gusty and we do have a mainly clear sky. so overall a very nice night ahead if you have any outdoor plans.

locally does not show much of the way in an cloud cover. we've had lots of sunshine today after a few low clouds and fog earlier this morning. we take a wider view. high pressure is off to our east. that's giving us our southerly wind which has helped our temperatures warm up. we do have a frontal boundary to our west, but notice, there's not much in the way of any rain or snow along that front. that's going to be the case throughout the weekend as the front tracks into the area. future track tonight shows a mainly clear sky. that will be the case as we he head into the first part of tomorrow morning. there may be a few clouds early on, but the majority of us will be mostly sunny. however by the afternoon there

the area. no rain is expected. clouds increase saturday night into sunday, and that's when we do have a slight chance for a light rain shower, maybe a wet snowflake, of the unseasonably warm weather. sundown mountain resort in dubuque was hoping to open the day after thanksgiving...but can't without colder temperatures to make snow. the snow that has been made is currently melting. the warmer weather has also caused the more than three-hundred people the resort employs during their season...to be on standby. "right now we're just running on necessary staff, we've got everything ready to go so when we get a little colder

reopen very quickly." managers hope to open by this coming or next weekend -- if the weather gets colder. and this season there will be a new addition -- the mountain center, which is were people buy tickets and rent ski equipment. the unseasonable weather so far is good news for local golfers. with courses like gates park continuing to stay open, many fans of the sport are enjoying the extra time outside in the cool temperatures. the missouri tigers introduced barry odom as their new head football coach today. odom will replace longtime coach gary pinkel who retired at the end of the season. odom served as the pinkel's coordinator. during today's press conference, odom said he was honored to be the school new coach. coming up...the hawkeyes getting ready for tomorrow's big matchup--we'll get a live report from

indianapolis, mark woodley...kwwl news. meanwhile, the number two ranked hawkeye wrestling team taking the mat tonight. they'll put their perfect 6-0 record on the line against the 1-4 south dakota state jackrabbits. iowa will put five top five ranked wrestlers on the mat tonight--that's the most in college wrestling. these two teams have met four times before, iowa winning all those matches. we'll have highlights from that matchup tonight at ten. uni has named it's interim director of athletics. deputy athletic director jean berger replaces troy dannen, who is taking over the athletic director position at tulane university. berger will take over january first. in case you missed this--we can't not show this. the packers, after being down 20 points, make a desperation play to win the game--looks like rodgers gets tackled here, but... packers get a second chance on a facemasking penalty. that sets up aaron rodgers--throws it 65 yards down the field and finds
