temperatures are in the 30s across eastern iowa, with warmer temperatures off to the southwest in parts of central iowa. a look at satellite and radar shows no rain, but we are seeing just aa few scattering of clouds. we'll continue with that trend throughout the day, but overall it will be mostly sunny. however, more clouds are on deck for the rest of the week. we are trackingga system that will stay north of us, but give us those extra clouds as we go into tonight and tomorrow. visibility rigt now is being reduced d a few miles in our northeastern counties. this is along a weak frontal boundary. the fog will dissipe pretty quickly leaving for a mostly sunny sky today. here is the storm track 7 forecast for

we will have highs in the upper tomorrow. details on ttat and a outop story this morning: a in one eastern iowa city. buildings. last night, a big crowd came out to a city council meeting where the issue was talked about. somm wanted to keep guns out of all city buildings -- even if against the idea. "gun free zones benefit only "the big thing that we have to remember is that we're employers and our staff needs to feed comfortable and we need to take into conssderation how they feels about this as well" 17 people spoke at the meeting last night. 15 were against the idea. two supported it. after they talked about it, the city decided it would not draw up a resolution for a gun-free zonee decision 2016 coverage -- and

donald trump's comments. he wants to ban muslims from coming into the u-s for now. critics are piling onon- here and abroad. tracie potts has reaction from washington. "it is time for donald trump to withdraw from the race." and he's a republican! partyy leaders conddmn trump's muslim travel ban -- but they're careful not to completely abandon the front runner: "i'm going to support whoever the republican nominee is and i'm going to stand up for what i believe in as i d d that." investigators have the area taped off as they look for clues. now it's up to a ajudge to decide what happens to a 14-year-old in eastern iowa. the teen pleaded guilty to shooting and killing another teen. 15-year-old aaron richardsds was shot and killed in september inin he was 15. robert humbles pleaded guilty. he's 14. humbles pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, reckless use of a firearm and going armed with intent. authorities say the shooting happened after two rival groups met up follwing threatening texts and facebook messages. "yes." "aaron?" "yes." "and di he die after being shot?" "yes." at first, he was charged with murder but after a plea agreement -- he's now charged as a youthful offender. he's being held in the linn county juvenile detention center. a judge will decide his fate. after he turns 18 -- he'll return to adult ccurt and prison

two people -- including a woman from iowa. the plane went down in a field. the medical examiner says dawn harl, from des moines, and a man from missouri died. the n-t-s-b says it's not sure yet what happened -- if the plane was trying to land or was just passing through. the longngarm of the law doesn't have to reach far to find someone trying to steal christmas. video shows a woman stealing ght from her neighbor's front steps. it happened in florida. t trns out the thief -- is the wife of a police officer. the victim -- a fellow officer and his wife. the packages were christmas gifts for their children. the woman is facing bbrglary chchrges. as iowa gets ready for the rose bowl, a big honor for the coach. kirk ferentz receives a national coach of the year award. he won the woody hayes award -- given by the touchdown club of columbus. that group says few outside of iowa city expected the hawkeyes to raise much of a fuss this year -- but at the end of the regular season, they were one of onll two undefeated teams in the country and on their way to a big ten championship game. now, they're on their way to a rose bowl and this is one way to celebrate. 43-hundred yellow roses from hy-veeare now at the university of iowa in honor of the hawkeyes incredible season. we asked hy-vee -- and they told us there was nothing significant about the number of roses -- 43-hundred, but theewanted to do something to congratulate the team. they also said -- so far -- there are no plans in the works to deliver red roses if they win. milder weather, little to no snow... this is not what the christmas

this morning -- good news, the number of americans with no debt is growing -- but so is the numberof people who say they'll nev get out. a study from credit cards dot com finds 21 percent believe they'll die with debt. on the flip side, the study found 22 percent of americans say they don't have any debt at all. that's up from 14 percent last year. a throwback from the 90s is about to make a comeback. crystal pepsi -- remember that?

the organization's gym in waterloo is stacked with toys r all ages. . toys were donated from people in the community, toys for tots, and walmart's fill the truck toy drive. we spoke to a mother of 5 who says she is grateful. thankful because i just moved to to be a little short so this is to tell you guys thank you so much. families also got food and a scarf for each child. the salvation army is also raising money to help those in need through the red kettle campaign. and we're teaming up once again with them. we're ringing bells -- and also having a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money through our metal in the kettle competition. i was in cedar rapids over the weeks aa. this week, it's ron's turn in dubuque. and i'll be in coralville on the 19th. we alsohave kettles online -- which you cc donate to anytime. you can find that information on your website at kwwl-dot-com. the time is

many timesas an issue when the weather is warmer, but adam mccoy explains winter allergies can alsleave you itchy and sneezy. it's winter. time to think about yoor.. allergies? dr. kathleen sheerin says absolutely. springtime when all of the outside and people are miserable. the culprits are not your typical tree pollens, says sheerin, but indoor allergens like dust tes and pet dander. if you spend more time inside, then you're going to have more exposure to your pets during the winter season. but fear not. regardless of the trigger, the symptoms and the treatments are still the same. you can have itchy eyes, itchy throat, itchy nose, a lot of allergic salute. runny sneezy, congestion , and those are the basic allergy symptoms.
